Here is the Rivals Insider Georgia Report: glad Coates got named the team captain for the game Saturday; that will mean so much to him.

Press Conference Audio Talk about it in The Dawgvent Judging by Saturday's final offensive numbers, Georgia's young offensive line did a commendable job in the Bulldogs' 35-14 win over Oklahoma State. But Coach Mark Richt is also a realist.
He knows there are going to be times where the line's youth will be exposed.
He just hopes it's not this Saturday when the Bulldogs open SEC play against South Carolina.
Steve Patterson Thomas Brown scores on the Bulldogs first play of the game "We've still got a ways to go. We're still making mistakes and sometimes get physically whipped," Richt said. "But at times, they did a nice job. We're still a work in progress and it's going to take us a while to be solid across the board."
Richt hopes that adding junior tight end Tripp Chandler into the mix will alleviate some of those youth-related mistakes young linemen tend to make.
"It's not that Bruce Figgins did a bad job, it's just when you've got three or four freshmen across the board at one time, somebody's bound to mess up," Richt said. "Having Tripp gives us a bit more experience and more consistent play."
Richt said that center Fernando Velasco the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week graded out the highest of the linemen, followed by right tackle Chester Adams. Freshman left tackle Trinton Sturdivant, left guard Chris Davis, right guard Clint Boling, and left tackle Vince Vance all had their moments both good and bad.
"There were some times that were good," Richt said. "Some, were not so good."
Brown taking big class load
Thomas Brown's friends told him he was crazy. The senior entered the fall needing just 21 hours to earn his degree in Speech Communications.
But try to earn them all in fall semester? Brown was coming off a season-ending ACL injury last year against Vanderbilt. Certainly, he needed the extra time to prepare.
Not so, said Brown, who joked that he was trying to keep his class load a secret.
"I feel very confident about it," Brown said. "Some of my classes are kind of tough, but I'll be fine."
Brown's currently taking five speech classes, an upper-level African Literature Class, and a course in Philosophy.
"Thomas thrives on people trying to tell him that he can't do something,"
Richt said. "His goal was to get his degree in three and one-half years, he didn't want to prolong it. He's got that kind of mentality, and I honestly believe he's a better football player than he was a season ago."
Lumpkin has surgery
Richt said that tailback Kregg Lumpkin had surgery Tuesday morning to repair his broken right thumb.
Lumpkin suffered the injury while trying to brace himself for a fall in the third quarter of Saturday's game against Oklahoma State.
"We hope in about two weeks he'll be well enough to contribute as a special teams player," Richt said. "Hopefully, in four we'll put the football in his hand again and see how he runs."
Brown and freshman Knowshon Moreno will handle the bulk of the action at tailback for the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs plan to honor Coates
Antavious Coates never got in on a single play his entire college career.
Four ACL injuries took care of that.
However, to honor Coates' commitment to the program, Richt decided to name the South Carolina native the overall team captain for Saturday's game against the Gamecocks.
"He got to practice, but he never got to put on the pads and run out there before the game," Richt said. "He never got to experience the crowd and all that. But he's still a very big part of the team and we just wanted to honor him on Saturday.
Coates will suit up with the rest of the team and join fellow captains Velasco (offense), Marcus Howard (defense), Brandon Miller (defense) and Brown (special teams) for the opening coin flip.

If you really want to stay up to date on all of the game's headlines, visit www.dawgbone.net/ daily. It will link every single article regarding South Carolina and Georgia for the entire week. The people at this site find every article in the country regarding the team; it is ridiculous, but great for keeping up with the headlines. Looks like there are some new articles about Spurrier changing the line-up and commenting on needing to beat Georgia just up...
