Nine different teams getting poll votes from the coaches, and I've got to say I can see that being valid. That doesn't mean 9 in the top 25, but 9 close enough to the top 25 to be getting votes. Pac 10 currently has 7, I didn't check anyone else. I'm exhausted and am going to bed. I've got to check out of this hotel/casino in the morning and head up to Lake Tahoe to check in for my 4 nights at Harrah's up there tomorrow afternoon.
I'm loving having this time to myself with the wife and kid out of the country while all of this is happening.

The state is good or bad, depends on who you are. Since we have to play most of those teams, I say it sucks! J/K It shows that the SEC is balanced I think. I have never been one to say the SEC is best because no one can play with UF or LSU. I think USC/UL/WVU would have just as good a chance going undefeated in the SEC as either of those teams does. What I say is that the bottom of the middle is tougher than other conferences. Not the bottom of the bottom, if you suck, then you suck. I mean the teams that will end up around .500 that could be 8 win teams if not playing in the SEC. 1-3 are good in all conferences. 10-12 suck. It is 4-9 where the SEC stands out IMO. Let the bashing begin

Yes, the SEC is strong. I get it. I've said it. What the fuck do you expect?

With all due respect Sadovin, I don't know if I'd be too thrilled about having the lady gone for an extended period of time. The bed springs aren't going to break themselves.
I think the season will sort out what we all rational, decent fans know. Every year there is a "best conference" and a "worst conference." Nothing is given out to either winner but a pat on the back and maybe a pack of chuckles. But the conferences are by and large fairly even. Week 2 has more compelling games, but nothing short of conferences going unbeaten in the OOC season and bowl season and winning a title will convince me of anything but my current opinion.
