Taking a step back on his pre-season predictions.
Head Ball Coach: 'Maybe I overstated our team'
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Steve Head Ball Coach talked all preseason about how his Gamecocks were ready to compete for the Southeastern Conference title.
It's still early in the season, but perhaps he spoke too soon. "Maybe I've overstated our team by throwing out some goals that appeared after that game the other night, 'That guy's crazy. What's he talking about?"' Head Ball Coach said Tuesday, referring to the Gamecocks' lackluster 28-14 win over Louisiana-Lafayette.
South Carolina (1-0) gave up 252 yards rushing and missed too many tackles in the win. That's not a good formula if the Gamecocks want to break their five-game losing streak against Saturday's opponent, No. 11 Georgia (1-0). Head Ball Coach was 11-1 against the Bulldogs before he came to South Carolina, but he's 0-2 with the Gamecocks.

It might just be a trap. Spurrier had UF make major improvements between game 1 and 2. I know this to be fact. UT used to play them in game 2.

We'll have to wait and see; the Ol Ball Coach loves to pull this kind of crap.

Too much credit for his past, I'm still waiting to see what he does with his present. Personally, I think his heyday is behind him and he won't ever sniff what he achieved at UF at USC. The times have changed. Bye, bye SOS....

I wrote about this on another thread proposing was he serious or just trying to piss his team off to motivate them. I still despise his very existence no matter what.

Well of course you do. He embarrassed UGA as no other coach has done.

YES uscg, I will never forget!!!!!! He ran up the score intentionally as you just had to bring that memory up a few days ago. lol Seriously one year when GA came out and jumped all over FL and ended up winning the game, he was a crying baby in his post game interview. He whined about how the refs did this, his players did that, blah blah blah. Not once could he have just said hey we got outplayed and lost the game. That sealed it for me. You guys can have him until he dies.

His heyday may be behind him, but look at what he has to work with. Duke was probably the best job coaching that he ever did.

In other news, USCe is striving to reach the coveted 0.500 mark in their program's history. They are currently 516-517-44 all-time.

Does Cassells know that his team (sorry, one of the four) gave up 252 yards rushing to UofLL?

Yeah, we always suck against the option. UGA doesn't run the option.
