Weekend recruiting visit turns into a fiascoIf there's one color of the rainbow that makes Georgia fans' blood boil, it's orange. Forget the fact that it takes some Georgia red mixed with some Georgia Tech yellow to create orange. Simply the sight of orange conjures up the incessant sound of "Rocky Top," the sight of War Eagle and that little record of 2-15 the last 17 years in Jacksonville, Fla. The color orange makes Georgia fans blind to their surroundings. It turns normally law-abiding citizens into law-breaking hooligans. Beer cans become ammunition. Passive behavior turns into profanity-laced commentary. The index finger signifying No. 1 is lowered, and the finger next to it is raised. www.onlineathens.com/stories/090507/football_20070905068.shtml

This makes me sad to be a dawgs fan. I could not envision anything more horrible than how those parents were treated. What the hell were they thinking, knowing there older son was the star WR for OK state. This is just disgraceful, nothing more I can say.

Well, I can't really blame CMR other than for having the parents for a visit when one of their sons were on the opposing team. The fans are truly to blame...They didn't mean anything by it, they were just supporting their son.

That's pretty disturbing! I sure were are more classy than that @ LSU. I hope that was a joke. LSU fans are by far the rudest in the SEC for visiting teams.

I think I am more surprized by the treatment from the staff than I am the fans. Fan's are going to be like that but to have the staff treating them that way is disturbing.

Well, that was interesting. Not too good for the PR department, and really kind of pathetic by the staff, but does thestaff really have any training in these matters. Are they volunteers that work on a gameday Saturday dealing more simply with the logistics of moving people along to where they need to be, with proper credentials? Yes, on its face it is sad, but if the folks who did this are simply ignorant, remove them after they formally apologize. I don't know, it is odd!
Now wait until Saturday when I see Gameboy in Athens. I think what I might say just might get my ass kicked, that is, if I try to collect my bet after the game!

I was referring to the staff, I do not care if they are volunteers or not. That is inexcusable to ask the parents to change there clothes. I sure hope that UGA has addressed this problem and made a formal apology to those parents. I would like to have seen CMR's reaction when he found out about this. Oh man, bet he was pretty pissed off himself.
