Former USC running back signee, Kenny Ashley, committed to Ole Miss on Tuesday.
James Bryant
Orgeron is always recruiting.
Ashley is a name some Rebel fans might remember. He is the former Rivals.com four-star running back that de-committed from Mississippi State and signed with the Trojans on Signing Day 2006.
Ashley has spent the last two seasons at El Camino Junior College and decided that Ole Miss was the best place for him.
"I like the direction of where they're football program is headed," Ashley told RebelSports.Net on Tuesday. "Coach Orgeron built a relationship with me when he was at USC. He has continued that relationship with me ever since. I felt that Ole Miss was the best opportunity for me, better than the one at MSU."
Ashley rushed for 1,510 yards as a senior and scored 25 touchdowns and is rated as the No.21 running back in the country coming out of Venice Beach, Calif.
Apparently, Ashley drove through Oxford during a visit to Starkville.
"I have been through there, I like it a lot," Ashley said. "Right now Ole Miss is the right place for me."
Ashley will graduate in December and enroll at Ole Miss in January.
