Got this from the Auburn home page on cbs. Any insight? I have been hearing since the end of the KSU game that Tuberville and Borges have not seen eye to eye on the offense as Borges wanted to open it up more and Tuberville kept them under wraps with the ball control O. If this is true that could cause dissension from the staff and on to the team, and our O cannot afford anymore dissension than we have been through already this preseason and game against K. State. Looks to me Tuberville needs to let Borges do his job and only override if he knows it will hurt his team. I believe we have the athletes to open it up. Does anyone else have any knowledge on this subject?

Tubberville might have guaged the competition and decided not to open up to save his playbook for when it was needed.

Tubberville might have guaged the competition and decided not to open up to save his playbook for when it was needed. I understand that maybe Borges wanted to get Fannin in and Tuberville was not confident in him being in there. Tubberville comes from a "school of loyalty" and Brandon is his boy. Tubberville's main concern was with pass protection for Brandon Cox. On Auburn's scoring drive they "threw the playbook out" and basically told Cox to go in their open it up and win. At the beginning of fall practice Borges was caught off guard by Tubberville making a comment to the press that Lester was not the starter at RB, that he would have to earn it. Lester was further sent to practice with the incoming freshmen rather than with the veterans on the team for the first week. Here is what I think.... Tubberville is an old defensive coach and is clearly frustrated with the offenses lack of production. Borges would like to open the game up and is being held back because of poor blocking Cox being hit and sacked and no running game. There is a philosophy going .....If we can't run lets go conservative and get the defense to make plays for us. I think Tubberville and Borges are both frustrated and the problem is OL Coach Nall. Auburn's problem on offense last year was the offensive line and the problems are still as bad if not worse. He is the one with a responsibility to get them ready and prepared. On a good note last night Tubberville said the o-line has had 3 good pracrtices in a row now, Mario Fannin has been getting reps in practice with the starters and looks good, Blackmon, Savage and Wilhite from the defense all practiced yesterday (Blackmon only about half of practice). Wes Byrum is likely not going to kick Saturday.

Sounds good to me, Nall has been with TT for a while but he needs to get the Line ready for the games.

Sounds good to me, Nall has been with TT for a while but he needs to get the Line ready for the games. Rewind to 2003....Auburn was preseason Nr 6 in the Nation. Jason Campbell, Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Marcus Mc Neil, all the wide receivers..... Brandon Jacobs was on that team too....All the offensive weapons Auburn had.... They choked against USC and GA Tech and lost 5 games that year....With all of that talent on offense. They were supposed to be a contender for the NC. That poor season DRAMTICALLY effected their Nr 17 preseason ranking in 2004. Basically putting it out of reach even with an undefeated season.... In 03 Hugh Nall had been promoted to Offensive Coordinator from OL Coach. After planegate, Tubs put him back as the OL Coach and hired Borges....

Sounds like it comes back to what you said
Hasn't Nall been with him since he was at Ole Miss?

Yeah, moving Nall to OC was a bad move...whew boy. Had we gotten Borges back in 2003 could you imagine the possibilities. I bet Jacobs wouldn't have transferred.
