but why... I agree with this article, that it makes no sense with this years draft. Is this guy Rubio that good? all the news outlets up here are talking about Rondo being halfway out the door already... really weird to me. I don't love Rondo and think he tries to do too much, but he helped them win a lot of games this past season when the Big 3 weren't doing it (either because of under performance or injury). dimemag.com/2009/06/nba-draft-trade-rumor-celtics-trade-up-to-2/

Keep Rondo. He's not that bad and actually did some impressive things this year. Besides Memphis has Mike Conley, unless they've already given up on a top 5 pick from 2 years ago.
I have heard that Boston is looking to unload Allen and that does make sense. Unload him and his contract to get a good young off guard might make sense.
Allen is poised to have a big decline next year.

I agree with you, but no way anyone gives you a top 10 pick for Ray Allen these days... at least I wouldn't think, even if you are giving your second round with him.

I will tell you a lot of people are up on Rubio but not worth trading to number 2.

I have heard that as well... but trading a player that has done a great job for you on the court and has continued to grow as a player for a draft pick that you pick a guy that isn't proven... this draft doesn't have any Kobes or Brons in it.

The offseason is sure to be busy in big D, it has already been leaked they are looking to trade up to 5th for Hill or Harden, everyone but Dirk is safe, Jet and Josh wll be gone and Stackhouse has a great contract for teams looking to unload money in the offseason. If the Mavs could get Allen for lets say Howard and their pick they would do it in a nano second as they need a 2 guard.

Allen is not young (like you) and his body is beginning to break down. He is a nice complimentary player at best at this point in his career,. Why would you unload a top 10 pick for a guy witha bout 2 years left to play considering if you have a top 10 pick you have a lot more than just a few needs? Then again, ye with all the youthful wisdom would have thought that through.

And I don't see Howard on the Cs... don't think that is going to happen.

Kidd played a lot better last year than I thought he would and play solid defense against two guards, Dallas will do anything in their power to keep him.
