Seems people all over the place are getting E. Coli illnesses from eating it raw. 66 cases in 28 states, 25 hospitalizations. I just finished off a tub of it raw.

I thought I was the only person who thought raw cookie dough was an excellent desert. Toll House is the best ;d ;d

That stuff is like a drug, you can't stop from eating it raw.

Raw cookie dough does taste awesome but I stopped eating it years ago back around the time of the first big scare. You just cannot trust anything with raw eggs in it anymore

Raw cookie dough does taste awesome but I stopped eating it years ago back around the time of the first big scare. You just cannot trust anything with raw eggs in it anymore The risk of raw eggs in pre-packaged cookie dough is a myth. The eggs used are pasteurized. The problem causing this recall is E. Coli, which has nothing to do with the eggs. My wife used to worry about the eggs too until she found out it's not like they're cracking eggs and putting them into it. If you make the dough from scratch yourself, then it's a serious issue that there are raw eggs.

Sorry Sad, that is what I meant. We make our own homemade cookies in our house from scratch and "licking the beater" was a favorite past time of mine. It is no longer. See I stopped eating processed food altogether for health reasons, sufficed to say my health has been amazing ever since. BP went from an average of 126/87 to 110/70 in less than two months, cholesterol is 140 with a ratio under 3.8, triglycerides are fantastic. I tell you it is a committment though to read all the labels and cook/prepare 90% of your meals (aka not alot of going out to eat happens anymore). Hoenstly none of it was a big deal to me, although I do miss havign the a coca cola now and then, but other than that I don't really eat that differently than I used to it's just making sure everything is made from all natural and/or organic ingredients. Two of the big "tells" of a food that is "processed" is if it contains either High Fructose Corn Syrup or MSG. Not saying if it does not those ingredients that it's nonprocessed/natural but if you eliminate those two things you are on the right trail. Here is the real kicker, I lost almost 20 pounds and I eat what I want, when I want and I have dessert every day (had 6 cookies for dessert last night and tha tis an average night), turns out if you get rid of all those chemicals and processed bs out of your diet your body metabolizes it better and faster and you feel full and fuller for longer periods than with processed food. I am no liberal, tree hugging weirdo and I do not subscribe to some hippie diet but my results have been very very real since I started doing this

Glenn Beck was eating this stuff raw on his show today. He was offering Ann Coulter some too. It was hilarious. It'll be even funnier if he gets e coli.

Kaara, You better quit that diet before you end up divorced. I don't know of too many women that will stick around as long as not too much eating out is happening anymore.

This plant is the plant my mom worked at when I was growing up in Danville. They plan to lay off at least 200 people which for Danville its a big punch in the balls. Its sad, Nestle was the best company either one of my parents have worked for. And as a kid going to the company store and getting all that damn candy you want for nothing (the turtles are the best) it made for a good childhood.
