Three weeks ago, Staff Sergeant John Beale of the 48th Brigade Combat Team (Georgia National Guard) was killed along with two of his comrades in Afghanistan. The following amateur video was shot through the front windshield of the Patrol Car as SSG Beale's body was escorted from Peachtree City (Falcon Field) to his resting place in his home town of McDonough, Georgia. You might not have time to watch it as the video is 12 minutes long but it truly is amazing stuff. If you have the time, watch it. Make sure the Kleenex are nearby. Old Soldiers Never Die, they just Fade Away. www.blackfive.net/main/2009/06/proud-to-be-an-american.html

it took just over 4 minutes with the sound for me to crack
makes me proud of my country to watch it tho.
The St. Crispen's Day speech rings in my ears watching this as I see myself as one of the "gentlemen in England now-a-bed".
[abridged] If we are mark'd to die, we are enow To do our country loss; and if to live, The fewer men, the greater share of honour. God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.... And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

Watching this made me feel proud, yet again, to be an American. Props to all of the thousands of people who took time from their lives to honor a fallen soldier. I stayed dry for a good portion of the video, but when they played taps, it was all over for me. Thank you for your service, Staff Sergeant John Beale.

Freedom doesn't come on a silver pladder.
Thank you for your service Staff Sergeant John Beale. You will be in my prayers.

To see all those people taking time out of their busy lives to stand by on the street just to pay tribute to a fallen soldier is gut wrenching. I sit here right now with blurry eyes thinking how proud I am to live in this country with all of these fine examples of humanity. Rest In Peace SSgt Beale.

I teared up within 5 minutes of the video. I started to crack even more when they played TAPS. Thank you for your service Staff Sergeant John Beale. God bless you!
I want to say thank you to the citizens of Henry County Georgia. The way they honored him was truly honorable. God bless!
