BTW I ride the Red Line everyday as part of my commute, just the opposite end of the crash. The commute home was horrible yesterday and this morning. 9 people dead so far. Heads are going to roll and lawsuits filed.

Really? It has been on the national news CNN, Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS..I mean it was not nearly as big or bad as the commuter train accident in LA but it was pretty significant. Ah well everyone I know is safe so I am happy for that. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and hope the injured have speedy recoveries. The pictures from the Post are pretty telling that the train did not brake at all. I have a link www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/23/AR2009062300653.html

I had not seen this, but am glad to know our DC guys are ok.
Can't believe I hadn't heard about this, because it is pretty serious.

Gorish,
Is the Red Line the one that goes through Silver Spring?

Tiger,
Yes Silver Spring to Shady Grove. I take it from my home to Metro Center. It is the oldest line in the system. The accident happened between two trains that were coming from Silver Spring into D.C. They also just announced one of the dead was Gen. David Wherley(ret) of the National Guard.
