Great deal for the Cards. DeRosa is a guy who just helps you win and can play anywhere on the field.

I also love the fact that he was a Cub fan favorite Irony anyone? On a side note it is a little sad that since ESPN doesn't play up the Cards-Cubs rivalry and people around the country don't seem to understand the intensity (I can only understand from the outside).

Good move by the Cardinals. I wish the Brewers would've got him because we need another utility kinda guy. He can play pretty much everywhere besides Catcher. The Brewers though need a #2 pitcher if they want to continue to compete in the Central.

Totally agree there BTB. I hate the Cubs even more than the Chickenhawks. That should say something

Derosa is a nice pick up. Perez might have been the next great closer but Ryan Franklin is doing a great job right now and the Cards' stats against lefties are atrocious. Derosa can hit left handers and he has pop in the bat which give AP some decent lineup protection.
The fact that the Cub fans want him back is just icing on the cake.
I still hate Texass more than the Cubs, but not by much!!!

Thanks, MIZ. My first game was May 6, 1969. Gibson pitched. I was 7 1/2 and to this day, Bob Gibson is my favorite all time Cardinal. I got to see Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Bobby Bonds play against some of the all-time great Cardinals (at least in my 7 year old mind!) Brock, Javier, Flood, Maxvill, Torre.
I've been mad ever since the Cardinals dumped KMOX, however. I could work in my garage and tune in my AM radio here in Oklahoma and never miss a game. Now I have to rely on the cable company picking up the odd Fox Midwest game now and then.
I've noticed that WGN has even been cutting the number of Cards/Cubs games they show. More often it's the Sox. That sucks! Who cares about the Sox or who they are playing?
Anyway...
Hopefully Derosa's presence will strengthen the lineup enough so that, as Albert sees more walks, the team can still get the runs (and maybe more if Mark can smack a few out with AP getting the free pass ahead of him.)
National columnists are starting to ask why Albert is third in the NL in walks...it is a good question but I hope opposing managers aren't reading to columns. I'd like to see him hit 62, win another MVP and the WS MVP to boot!!!

Yeah the Cardinals probably took a hit from their nation of fans when they dumped KMOX. The Cardinals were the first team west of the Mississippi so they have fans all over the country. I have noticed on SCM a Mizzou fan, ND fan, Husker fan, and a Sooner fan all root for the Cardinals. That is awesome

Don't hate just because the people of Milwaukee don't even like the Brewers (except when they are winning )

The Cardinals being the team that was the furthest West until the Dodgers and Giants moved in 1958 had something to do with having a large fan base... ;D

Don't hate just because the people of Milwaukee don't even like the Brewers (except when they are winning ) :'(Well thats the truth honestly. Funny thing is people that I know make fun of me cuz I say that the Yankees are my 2nd fav team, and always cheer for them barring they don't play the Brewers, and then I'll just bring up the fact that they didn't care about baseball until 2 years ago. Remember when you went to see the Brewers play the Cards. The Brewers had 3 hits and still won the game.

The problem is that one of those hits was a HR . A Yankees fan, WTF, and you made fun of me for rooting for the Lakers There is a difference. The Yankees are my #2 team, the Lakers are your favorite team, not to mention the fact that Kob is a little bitch(As always Lebron>>Kobe) I'm willing to guess there are other people who cheer for hated teams, but they aren't their favorite teams. Be happy that I won't hate on Kobe, until the playoffs as I try to watch another season of the same crap season after season called Bucks Basketball, maybe Jennings will turn out to be a star. www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/bradley_center_moves

Back on the topic of baseball, the NL Central race is starting to heat up Well, I think this move will force the Brewers to make a move of their own. They'll probably trade for a guy like Doug Davis, or Brian Bannister, or possibly someone else. I don't care who it is, but the Brewers right now need SP very bad. One thing I've noticed is that the Brewers have almost no good SP Prospects in the Minors, and almost all of our best prospects are everyday guys. Doug Melvin has really built this team like the ones in Texas. I also heard that St. Louis is looking to get Holliday. IMO if they get him they'll probably run away with the division, but we'll see. Oh and +1, since I saw you gave me one yesterday. ;D

They won't get Holliday because Oakland want the Cardinals best prospect for him

That is awesome I've listened to the Cardinals on KMOX while living in Detroit, New Jersey, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, North Dakota and California. KMOX was the first superstation, grabbing fans all over the country. And you are right about Cardinals fans everywhere. When I lived in the Outer Bay Area, at Giants games there would be almost as many Card fans as Giants. Of course this was at old Candlestick and pre-Barry Butthead.

They won't get Holliday because Oakland want the Cardinals best prospect for him I still think they might just get him. Mainly because Oakland won't be able to get that much for him, Right now it actually looks like a team might have to pay more for a guy like Huston Street or Jose Valverde because of the demand of relief guys, obviously Billy Beane probably regrets the trade now.
