He is first in HRs, first in RBIs, and 3rd in average trailing Hanley Ramirez by .11

I voted NO.
Not because I think Albert is capable, because I think he is. He doesn't strike out (more HR's than K's) and can hit balls outside of the strikezone for power.
The reason I went with NO is because there is no way that teams continue to pitch to him enough for him to lead the league in both HRs and RBIs. They are going to start walking him with guys on base (if first is open) because the 4 hitter for the Cardinals doesn't scare a lot of people.
A hell of a hitter though. Remember hasn't been a Triple Crown Winners in the NL since 1937 and Joe 'Ducky' Medwick.

Completely agree with BTB... I vote NO... only b/c eventually teams are going to realize they stand a better chance to beat the Cardinals by making Colby Rasmus, Chris Duncan, Ryan Ludwick, and Rick Ankiel beat them instead of Albert... but if they don't smarten up, he could very well win it... I'm banking on teams giving him the Barry Bonds treatment sooner rather than later....

I can see him leading in average (the one he trails in now) at the end of the season... maybe even HR's.. but not RBI's... he won't get to hit with men on base... let alone in scoring position....

I actually think he will take the HR title. I think he has six more than the guy in second place

I hope he does b/c he is on my fantasy team, but I voted no for all the reasons that BTB and Goose discussed.

I gotta' agree with Goose. I voted no for the simple fact that the law of averages is going to be against him as the season continues. If guys like Ludwick continue to struggle, he is going to end up being walked more than anything. It will be the Bonds effect all over again. Personally, if I'm up two runs in the bottom of the 9th, and the bases are loaded with Albert up...I walk in a run and take my chances with the next guy. That's how good the guy is.

I voted Yes. The question says "Can he Win it" not "Will he win it". I don't think he will win it, but I think he has as a good of a chance as anybody.

An intentional walk with the bases loaded? That has only happened like 6 times in the history of baseball. The last one being to Barry Bonds against the Diamondbacks a few years back (02 or 03 I guess).
Guess if I read the question like BB I could have voted yes. Pujols has all the skills and is an outstanding hitter.

Pujols has all the skills and is an outstanding hitter. And it didn't happen tonight. The Reds are up 4-0 in the eight, bases loaded and Albert came to the plate. The Reds pitched to him and AP launches his 4th grand slam of the year, knotting up the game that the Cardinals would win 7-4. He also doubled in a run in the 9th. People keep pitching, he keeps hitting. You'd think they'd start Bondsing him sooner or later. How long is it gonna take?

I am going to have to agree with Brew Crew sucks, I mean he can win it. I dont know if he actually will, I think the Cards have to add another bat to give him more protection. Otherwise teams will just keep pitching around him.
