The utterly incompetent Atlanta Braves traded Frenchy for an even worse option, Ryan Church. My God, at least Frenchy could play defense. And the idiots paid the Mets to take him.
Braves trade Francoeur to Mets By David O'Brien

DENVER — Braves right fielder Jeff Francoeur has been traded to the New York Mets for outfielder Ryan Church, the team announced Friday afternoon.
The erstwhile Braves “Golden Boy,” once considered the heir apparent to Chipper Jones, has struggled for two seasons and was recently benched for three games in favor of Matt Diaz.
Jeff Francoeur was hitting only .250 with five homers and 35 RBIs this season. The Braves acquired Mets outfielder Ryan Church, seen making a sliding catch on July 4.
Francoeur, a Lilburn native and former two-sport star at Parkview High, was hitting only .250 with five homers and 35 RBIs this season, and his .282 on-base percentage was one of the worst in the National League among starters.
He had his first three-double night Thursday against Colorado.
Church has hit .280 with two homers and 20 RBIs and a .332 OBP in 67 games this season and had a stint on the disabled list. He has played some center field but mostly right field for the Mets.
The Braves will also send some cash to the Mets in the deal, which includes no other players.

I was hearing that Franceour might've gotten traded to Milwaukee with Javier Vasquez for Cory Hart, and some prospects. Bad trade for Atlanta IMO.

Not the best of moves to for the Bravos. Consequently, I hear the Phils are not only talking with Pedro (which doesn't do much for me) but they're in talks with the Jays about Halladay. Now that would be big if he can stay healthy.
