Wow...
That is crazy. I have no idea what happened earlier in the game, but Youker does seem to get hit quite a bit... (that doesn't mean it is right to charge the mound...ever).

Wow, just saw the whole thing.
I am not sure that Cabrera was hit on purpose (looked like an inside fastball that got away from a young pitcher).
Porcello threw at Martinez in the first, then hit Youker in the back (obviously intentional). Youk charged the mound and got taken down (he shouldn't have charged, but was hit intentionally last night as well).
The Red Sox got the victory thanks to Youk's replacement Lowell hitting 2 big dingers.

I lost respect for Youk when he threw his helmet at Porcello

I lost respect for Youk when he threw his helmet at Porcello in all fairness... he threw it at his feet... not like he threw it at his head... plus this all stems from the prior game when Cabrera got hit by another inside fastball.

He can charge the mound without being a little bitch and throwing his helmet

I guess I just didn't see it as being that bad. People have done much worse like not dropping there bats before headed out. And it isn't like he went out and punched the guy either... as soon as Cabrera left the game, I said to my fiance that a fight was imminent. She laughed and asked what made me say that... two seconds later, sure enough, the benches clear.
what is more dangerous... Youk throwing his helmet at his feet, or this kid throwing a baseball at him. Keep in mind, Youk has been hit in the head at least 3 times this year alone. To me, when he threw at Victor and missed him, it should have been done and to prove that it wouldn't have been done until the benches cleared, he turned around and hit Youk the first chance he got.

I am sorry brad but stop being a Red Sox fan on this issue. The Red Sox pitcher injured the Tigers best player so of course Porcello is going to throw at one of the Red Sox best players. That is how baseball works. It is not like Porcello threw at his head, he hit him in the back. A lot of superstars get hit but you do not see them charge the mound. Bottom line: Youk acted rediculous

He didn't come out of the game until the next inning. If you make your effort to hit a batter after your batter is hit and miss, you failed at your chance to get back at them, you don't continue it in the next inning. This is a two way street, so if Youk acted ridiculous, than so did Porcello.

I think because Cabrera was hit two nights in a row is why the Tigers threw at Youk. Porcello was just defending his best player. That is how baseball works. I hope they give Youk a good suspension

well... Cabrera wasn't the only player to get hit the prior night... Pedroia was hit too. I am not saying that if we hit your best player, you shouldn't be able to retaliate, but you shouldn't expect a guy not to be pissed when he is hit. I don't see more than 3-5 for Youk... unfortunately, I doubt Procello will get anything, which to me he should too.

I don't know as nobody even moved when Youk started towards the mound... I think they would have been ready for the possibility of him charging the mound, especially since Victor almost did.

But Youk did go out there and try to tackle Porcello. I see your point, I mean, someone else kicked a catcher, and another one just charged at Roger Clemens for a pitch that was closer to the plate than to the hitter. I mean, yeah, there's been worse ;D But, but, Porcello SAID he didn't do it on purpose

Interesting stat to throw out there, Porcello, before this game, had only hit one batter the entire year, meaning I'd take his statements about throwing at V-Mart and Youk with a grain of salt.
