any thoughts on who is going to win the wild card... how about can Texas catch Anaheim in the West... matchup predictions...
I think the BoSox win the wild card because Texas and Anaheim will beat up on each other I think Anaheim holds off Texas As for matchups... I would have to look at it a little more in depth, as I have lost track of the Central... but would guess that the Yanks play the winner of the Central and Annaheim plays the BoSox

East-Yankees Central-Tigers West-Angels WC-Red Sox The races this year are pretty boring in both leagues

Headed to the Sox game tonight to see if they have it in them to lock down the wild card... Dice-K is back tonight, if he can give them quality innings the rest of the way, I think they have it for sure... but I really think it is important for him to pitch well before I say that they definitely will win the wild card... oh, and it looks like it is also a preview of your Sox/Angels matchup, which I agree with.

Brad, Enjoy the game. I really think that the Sox are going to win the wild card and if they do they deserve it. A few weeks ago, I really thought that your boys were out of it but they have played well... Don't get me wrong though...GO YANKEES

after last night... I am more confident... Dice-K looks fresh and ready to go. for him to beat Lackey last night, that was huge, not to mention he went 6.3 innings and was pulled with 88 pitches... looks like they are being careful with him as he wasn't in any danger in the 7th when they pulled him. that with was also without V-Mart or Youk, so I am very optimistic now.

I was listening to a Boston sports radio talk show and they were talking about rivalries for Boston teams... the Yankees were not the top on the list and about crashed my car. I don't see anything close in the other sports to this rivalry... may be because I could care less about the other sports.

Is someone gonna honestly tell me Lakers or some nonsense I agree with you... in basketball, the player turn over is soooooo high. I understand that you have that in baseball as well... but the core stays pretty stable for good teams... Jeter, Rivera... Papi, Youk... plus in baseball, you actually grow some talent within your organization (well, unless you are the Skanks ) where they learn the rivalry before they make it to the bigs.

I got the Twins in this match up, though Scott Baker is painfully inconsistent. He's been great of late, but don't know when the bad side of him will show.
As a side note, Brian Duensing is an alum of UNL.

was hoping for a little more offense than that... Lester had a pretty good outing... nothing great, but definitely could have gotten a win had we hit. the umpires were dreadful last night, calling people out when they were safe, vice versa and the balls and strikes seemed to suck as well... that being said it was a two way street and made no difference what so ever in the game. Hopefully Beckett is healthy and will give us a good start tonight... if we can take one at Anaheim, I think we have a good shot.
Screw the Yanks and Go Sox (that was for you Irish)

Lester didn't pitch well enough for a win in the postseason. Maybe a reg season game against the Mariners or something, but not a postseason game against a pitcher like Lackey. I will always say, that come postseason, I like to have my Game 1 pitcher (preferrably the ace) make it into the 7th or 8th inning to preserve the bullpen, b/c typcially it will be much more needed in the games to follow.
