possible in the next 10 days... I have no idea why Jed Hoyer would do this. It makes no sense for the club... although, the rumor in Boston is that it would possibly be Buckholtz and Elsbury... I say do it, but then you need to sign a left or center fielder.
This trade would lower what the Sox are paying considerably as Gonzalez is only making $5 mill... and would allow them to get a decent feilder, but not a good one... in other words, this trade would not allow them to sign Bay or Holliday.

Interesting. Lots of changes in Boston this offseason.
If they get Gonzalez I think Youk makes the transition to third very easily.
Should be interesting. What does the roster look like right now? C: Victor Martinez, Tek 1B: Youk, Casey Kotchman 2B: Dustin Pedroia SS: Jed Lowrie(?) 3B: ? RF: JD Drew CF: Ellsbury LF: Mike Cameron
That doesn't look all that imposing, but their rotation is nasty. So an acquisition of a bat (A. Gonzalez) would be huge for them. I don't think they really want to give us Ellsbury though (I wouldn't, he plays too good on defense).

Ellsbury will be moved to left field and cameron will play center probably because of defense. Ellsbury makes spectacular plays, but isn't that great instinctively and misses some plays that he should make.
this team is made up of a lot of parts that are interchangeable... the only person that probably won't play more than one position is Marco Scuttero.
C: Victor, Tek 1B: Youk, Casey, Victor 2B: Pedroia, Lowrie 3B: Lowell (trade isn't looking good anymore, but will know this week), Youk SS: Scuttero, Pedroia RF: Drew, Hermida CF: Cameron, Ellsbury LF: Ellsbury, Hermida
so you can see that the peices are very interchangeable... looks like the pen could be the weak spot right now, but with Wake in there, it could be better than I think it will be.
rotation: Beckett Lackey Lester Buckholtz Dice-K
