wait, wait, wait... I look at the Phils and see the possibility of them being like the Sox or Yanks... they could win the WS every year. If you want to go back to the Phils of the 90s, feel free. I was trying to keep that window open indefinately. Ownership knows what winning a WS can do revenue wise, so why wouldn't they continue to put money into their players and player development?
Actually, UT wins, Big Ten loses... WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Unfortunately, the Phils don't have the national and international following of the Sox or Yanks, thus sustaining it would be difficult but could be achieved if done the right way. They will never have the same revenue streams as either of those two teams, as much as I would love to believe that to be untrue.
Thus, your logic is trumped again by logic that is more realistic. PSU wins yet another bowl game against the Vols! ;D
holy crap, I think you just proved my point... let me take a sentence out of your post... thus sustaining it would be difficult but could be achieved if done the right way.... this right here is the exact reason to get the three prospects... now, you take a WS winning team, make it better by a little for next year, and get to keep the upgrade for a longer time than the original pitcher, thus upgrading your team in the long run too, and still have 3 prospects... to me, this sounds like they are doing it the right way.
wait, looks like the Lions counted their chickens too soon... UT runs back the kickoff to win the game with no time left... game over, Vols win!!! ;D
oh and by the way, their were no flags on the play... so don't try that.
