Seattle sends Carlos Silva and cash to Chicago for Milton Bradley. I see this as a good move for both teams. Seattle wasn't getting anything from Silva and needed another bat, and because they have a good clubhouse and pretty friendly media/fanbase, they can probably afford to take a gamble on the character side. Bradley had obviously burnt too many bridges in Chitown, and maybe Silva can rebound a bit in the national league.

Interesting move.
I think Bradley will behave in Seattle because of contract situations and the leadership in the clubhouse (plus they now look like contenders where he can get normal ABs).

IF Bradley does behave, we could see a new player in the playoffs.

I see this as a wash. Silva not very good. Bradley a loose cannon who's not getting younger and his skills aren't what they once were.

I really think this makes them a contender though, for the AL West that is. The Angels really aren't even remotely close to what they were last year... in fact, they are closer to what the Royals were last year than what they were. Texas really didn't get any better. They might get Lowell, which won't really help them that much. I think Seattle saw this and decided to strike and make themselves some cash flow. Good for them.

i dont see how this helps the cubs at all beside appeasing some of the cubs fans by getting rid of Bradley

at some point, he has to come to the realization that how he is acting is directly hurting his pocket, right??? I think that in Seattle, he does realize it and makes the Mariners a better team.
