Beasley's got K-State coach's backPosted: Sunday March 02, 2008 09:40AM ETHis team no longer is a lock to get a bye at the Big 12 tournament. The losses continue to mount. First place, well, that seems like ages ago. Now, perhaps we'll really see what Frank Martin is made of. When he was promoted to head coach of the Kansas State men's basketball team, it looked as if Martin hit the jackpot by inheriting a freshman class that included Michael Beasley. But on Saturday night at Allen Fieldhouse, where K-State fell to the Kansas Jayhawks 88-74, what once seemed so promising for Martin has deteriorated in loss after loss after loss after loss. Even though K-State dropped its fourth straight game, falling to 18-10 overall and 8-6 in the Big 12, Beasley said he's got Martin's back. Kansas City Star

I really think this is a non-issue. Everyone wants to make a big deal out of losing 4 in a row, but the reality is that they've combined a bad loss at Nebraska with losses to the top 3 teams in the conference: Texas, Kansas, and Baylor. As long as they win the last two, hosting last place Colorado and visiting 11th place Iowa State, and win the opening round of the big 12 tournament, they should be fine.
