I don't mind the deal. It is a one year deal, but for $10 million. It does seem like a lot for a guy who hit .196 last year, but it does give the Cubs the left-handed power bat that they have desperately needed in the past. Hopefully Pena's average goes up to even his career average, which is .241. Even higher would be better.. sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5898142

If he hits 25-30 HR's and keeps his BA above the mendoza line, it's not a bad deal though.
