Growing up - I thought all fish were fried in corn meal - even oysters For shrimp it was "crab boil" not so much breaded. When I was young I never went into a house that didn't have a grease bucket on the stove. Got to do something with those drippings in everything you cooked.

Fried okra battered in corn meal may be the best and worst I've ever had...and fried in bacon/sausage grease of course

I love to fish. Both salt and freshwater.
I like deep sea, and bottom fishing.
When I was little, I would ride my bike, get a bucket of shrimp, and fish off the bridge in the Indian River.
I like cutting bait.
I even like cleaning fish.
For me, the best way to prepare fish to eat is to throw that junk away and eat hush puppies.
I have never liked any fish to eat, no matter how it is prepared. I wish I liked it, because most around me love it. Everyone always says "you just haven't had it prepared right."
I will try whatever people say, but it is all awful to me.

I mostly catch and release.

Catching fish is fun - as far as eating fish - I only enjoy shell fish now - king crab, oysters, shrimp, scallops, etc.
