Damn...I am now relegating myself to viewing some NFL pre-season games. Fromm-Fields head to head and both will be leading their teams in the second Half. Just sneaking a peak.

“We are hopeful to get all of those guys back soon. That is the plan with really all of the guys that are injured — we don’t have an injury where there are guys out for a long amount of time,” Smart told the media after Saturday’s scrimmage. “We are hopeful to get all of those guys back. I mean, every one of them are day to day. I mean, some of the guys you mentioned can practice now and are practicing.
“Each one is a different situation, but I expect to be full tilt when Clemson comes, when it comes time to play them. We had more guys today than we did at the last scrimmage, we are in a good position.”
I hope he is right, but frankly this sounds like a White House briefing than reality.

Not to be critical, at all, but shouldn't that be cooked until there is no pink? After all, it is pork. I always thought it should be cooked until it is white throughout. Correct me if I am mistaken. * It does look damned good on the outside, though! When cooking a big piece of pork sometimes the center will be pink. That is okay as long as the temp has reached the minimum temp. Some say it is 145, but I cook to 200 internal temp then let it cool for an hour or so. It melts the fat away and then it tastes like bacon.

Is it me or is the number of back-ups who are better than the starters crazy off the charts between these 2 National Champions? Well one of Clemson’s starters transferred to your school because he was surpassed by Simpson at LB so…

Good stuff. It looks like Sedrick Van Pran will be the starting center since Ericson is injured. Ericson made me nervous, so I like the switch. Van Pran was the number one Center in the 2020 class and he looked good in the spring game. Obviously he is going to get the full test against Clemson. I think UGA will slide Salyer to Guard, so with Shaffer at the other Guard spot Van Pran will be bookended by seasoned guys who will very likely get drafted after this season. OL is starting to come together and looks strong. They could use a cupcake game to work out the kinks. Not a fun game for either OL to come out of the gate to. Both Clemson and UGA have a tremendous front 7

After yesterday's scrimmage Kirby said the OL is
LT Salyer LG Shaffer C Van Pran RG Ratledge RT McClendon
Kirbs said something about a lot of competition but it's time to settle the OL for game 1. I think we will see changes after Clemson though because the schedule is manageable.

Merritt, YOu mention the front 7's and I agree. Both offenses are going to have to game plan to manage the LOS. I say mnagage because I don't think either OL is going to "win".

Agree…I think UGA is going to have struggles with Clemson’s size and athleticism at WR if Clemson’s OL can give DJU time. I don’t see either team having a lot of success running the ball. I think you’ll see both using the passing game as an extension of the run game with screens and quick passes. I cringe thinking about DJU running because of back up QB situation but I think it’s gonna be a necessity to utilize him. I think he has 10 or so designed carries at a minimum It’s getting close and I am getting excited

Buck Belue says Georgia will wear all red in Charlotte. Since the source is Buck, I am sceptical. Besides, I would assume that Clemson is home team. Finally, I wish these dipshits would stop screwing with our classic unis.

GEORGIA will be the AWAY team located on the SOUTH SIDELINE and the BULLDOGS BAND will be located in the WEST ENDZONE" And, no rumors to all red on the Rivals site. Hmmmm...please let it be false. Pretty please?!?! Buck, shut your pie hole. Thank you!

And, I did see Bucks comments came from a Sports Illustrated article stating such. I sure as hell hope he is alone and up in the top row on this pontification. I still am haunted by those Boise uniform abominations. Ack!

BD...I had to look up Buck's comments and see this is all speculation and doubt there is any real truth to the matter. From SI article...
Georgia to Wear All-Red Week One Former Georgia Quarterback Buck Belue reports that Georgia will wear all red uniforms against Clemson. HARRISON RENO2 HOURS AGO Rumors started to swirl Sunday afternoon that the University of Georgia would wear all-red uniforms for their September 4th season-opening game with the Clemson Tigers.
The speculation dates back to earlier in the summer when Georgia took photos of recruits on campus for June and July; recruits were pictured with red jerseys and red pants.
According to a report by Buck Belue on 680theFan, the Dawgs could be wearing all-red everything for the first time under Kirby Smart when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take on the number three ranked Clemson Tigers...

Van Pran is gonna have a tough task in his first start Yeah, it's definitely going to be something to watch. UGA had to replace the center anyway and there is a ton of experience around him. I doubt he calls any protections against Clemson. A big win for the DL will be forcing UGA to keep a RB in for pass protection. Ohio State was able to neutralize Clemson's front 7 with motion and quick snaps, but I'm sure Venables has a plan for that. Chess match....

UGA's DL is built to take up space and then the guys behind them fill the hole to take the RB or pressure the QB. UGA needs to change that and have the DL guys bull rush more and try to push Clemson's OL back a bit. Clemson's OL is smaller and more athletic, so pushing them back will impact their pulling and angles. Clemson rarely lines up and road grades. The weak link is Bockhorst and I bet they come after him. I experienced a loaded team with a 2 star QB last year, and I wouldn't recommend it to Clemson.

Clemson’s OL had some of the best offseason gains…they are all 300+ now so not all that small Expected starters LT: McCadden 310 LG: Tate 325 C: Bockhorst 315 RG: Putnam 305 RT: Parks 300 It was found out during off-season that Bockhorst dealt with a shoulder injury all last season so I’m hoping that was his issue because he looked better the year before in spot duty. We will see…they are talking the OL up and they do have to go against Clemson’s front everyday so that will hopefully make them better OL is definitely a question mark

Moving Bockhorst to Center is smart. I'm sure he can call the protections but he won't have to be as athletic.
It's going to be a great match up! Getting pumped!

Some big news…Taison Pho was cleared for contact and Dabo said he is the #2 QB behind DJU
What’s interesting is he still is walking with a slight limp so that’s scary if he’s second best option 6 months removed from Achilles surgery
Please stay healthy and don’t get Covid DJ

If UGA wins it will be because they got pressure on DJ early and often.

They just did an update a few minutes ago on Clemson’s rivals site (best Clemson site for accurate news) and they reported he has been full go all week in practice. He was fully cleared Monday and has done everything in practice. Consider me shocked Let’s just hope he isn’t needed anytime soon

If UGA wins it will be because they got pressure on DJ early and often. Yes that will be a must. What was staggering to me and still is and I may have mentioned it but not sure...16 of 32 of UGA's sacks came against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Cincy. 8 were against Cincy I dont think this years defense is on par with last years and definitely not in secondary. Pressure will be key. Also, BV is generally money against QB's that arent very mobile so Daniels needs to be protected as well.

Then again, that is the MO in how to beat UGA, replace your starter QB with the back up, never fails. Ask Alabama! Hell, he probably would come in and light up the scoreboard with all those frisbee catching Tigers you have at WR and send Uga home, if he is even awake, with his nubby tail "between" his legs. All I can say is I am having to work this week until Friday in and around Pinehurst. Last day is Friday. I am so fearful of this hurricane coming in and sending moisture our way and causing us issues getting all our shots and extending this damn week into Saturday(or further), thus leaving me without being able to watch the game at home with all my fanfare of opening weekend and with all the goodies and drink I would have at the ready. I mean, I have been building this game up for a long time and supposed to have some friends over to watch. Now, that is all on the back burner. I hate trying to act like a responsible adult. Damn work. Now I know why that is a four letter word like $#!^, and $&@#. Anyway, good luck, nmerritt11, as this past week I can sure sense the tightening up of some Dawg fans asses as they are not as boastful as they were back in Spring. Now with the injury bug to our WR Corp, etc, they are all starting to let their inner Bigdawgs/Munson/Dooley out. Cheers!
