And every other program too.... thanks NIL....
TCU coach Gary Patterson says SEC schools targeting player on his roster with NIL offers
Scooby Axson USA TODAY
TCU head coach Gary Patterson says he wants the business leaders around the Fort Worth, Texas area and the school's supporters to get on board with the new name, image and likeness rule that has taken over college sports. Patterson points to what other schools are doing to snag recruits, like in-state counterparts Texas and Texas A&M paying players for interviews and doing it through team websites. Patterson goes on to say that schools are targeting one of his freshman that's currently on the roster. Patterson did not name the player. "There’s five SEC schools calling him and telling him, ‘Here’s what we’ll give you if you come here and not stay at TCU,’” Patterson said to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram. “At the end of the day, that’s just real life. If we don’t do anything about it, within a year we lose him.“The rules have changed. There is no wrong anymore.” TCU head coach Gary Patterson instructs his team in the second half of an NCAA college football game against California in Fort Worth, Texas, Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. TCU has partnered with Opendorse, which helps educate athletes through the murky waters of NIL. TCU also is partnering with the university's business school. "We planted the trees. Now we have to water ‘em,” Patterson said. “I hear, ‘Well, I don’t want to get dirty. It feels dirty. I don’t know the rules.’ Let me just say, you guys know me, I’m just going to tell the truth — the bottom line to it is I can lose 25-30 guys on scholarships by January

Sorry, but I'm calling BS.
There are rules against tampering, and if he knows of schools targeting his players he should have been on the phone with the NCAA yesterday

Texas webpage/message board now sponsoring there "TE's, including a walk-on"... $10,000 a year...
These message boards are known for raising money... it seems on the RedRaiderSports.com site (rivals) that there is an "endowment scholarship" cause every other week....
now... its NIL money raising campaigns and money going directly to the players on every teams "official" message boards.

Sorry, but I'm calling BS. There are rules against tampering, and if he knows of schools targeting his players he should have been on the phone with the NCAA yesterday Because the NCAA actually does a damn thing? I mean come on.... all they got to do is say "we had no knowledge".... I mean, who the fuck can police anything now? If a Car dealership in College Station offers a kid $50,000 to do a commercial on the hand shake agreement that he transfers...... how the fuck can you prove it? Maybe if a dealership in "Athens" tries it and he goes to UGA then the NCAA can look at it... but how can the school "be responsible for NIL $$$ from individuals not apart of the college" ?

Maybe TCU needs to hire Phil Fulmer. He knows how to report other teams in the SEC

Rules against "tampering"? Isn't that the NFL? I'm not sure there are ANY rules in college football anymore.

This sounds like another “anonymous source” type story where he’s spouting off about schools and player being contacted but no actual proof to verify.
