Okla St gets an inception at the 35 yard line. Boise has to get a stop for sure. Only about 4 minutes left in game.

But do they have a good FG kicker?

PSU vs. Auburn was a classic. The refs did a TuTu to PSU on several occasions. The "fourth down that wasn't", the "WTF PI" and the "Why not PI now" calls and the "I will blow the runner down whenever I want" call. The targeting call on Auburn was BS, but then I realized that officiating is not good anywhere. Very lopsided in that game though.

I especially liked the the intentional grounding when Clifford wasnt pressured, the receiver broke off the route, and clifford threw it to the spot he thought the receiver was going to be. That set off the sequence of events that saw PSU end up putting on what should have been 3rd down. None the less. There were some suspect calls on Auburn as well. It all worked itself out.

The SEC crew did make some bad calls both ways, but mostly slanted to the southernmost team.

Miss State got hurt by SEC officials in their game against Memphis on the punt return. There were several very weird calls in the UGA game too. College officials are not good and SEC has a legit claim to being worst.

The Georgia-Carolina game was clearly not close and I thought Georgia played ok. Maybe it has been the lack of being at games recently, but it seemed to me to be one of the hardest hitting games I can remember. Not just the Georgia defense but Carolina as well. Brutal hits. Still some real concerns about that secondary, to some degree masked by that ferocious pass rush. O line blocked well, especially on passing plays. Offense still playing without so many receivers but they are doing ok anyway so far.
Based on yesterday, both Florida and Auburn look like they are considerably better than pre season pundits expected. Arkansas also looks much better than expected. What looked like a pretty easy schedule a few weeks ago, now looks a bit more challenging...which is good.

Actually, I think they are all frequently bad. But yesterday the SEC stole the spotlight. I can remember awful Big Ten and PAC 12 officiating as well.

What looked like a pretty easy schedule a few weeks ago, now looks a bit more challenging...which is good. I didn’t see the game but I heard the same from friends who watched it. Doesn’t mean a whole lot when you lose by 3 or 4 touchdowns but at least they played hard. That’s a welcome change from last year. Reading up on it sounds like the O line was completely lost and turning interior rushers loose but sounds like Luke Doty played pretty well given the pressure and that he only had one full day of practice last week. I’ll be interested to see how we look against UK as that will be more telling than this game. We were clearly outclassed on the LOS and that tends to lead to a blowout. I said 6-6 would be a great season for this team and through three games that looks to still be the ceiling for this team.
