Tennessee is playing Texas tonight in the third game of the Classic. Baylor and UCLA played the first game today.

LSU lost to Texas last night 6 to 1 before about 26,000 fans at Minute Maid Park. Texas had one big inning and that was enough. An error prolong the inning for Texas - they scored one run on the error and the next Texas batter popped a three run dinger. LSU had plenty of chances later in the game, but the Texas pitching wouldn't give up the big hit.
Hats off to the Horns.
LSU is now 9-2 for the year and close today with Baylor.

Clemson sweeps the Yard Cocks for the first time since 1996. 3-2, 10-2, 5-2
Clemson is now 11-0 to start the season. Have an interesting series with Northeastern who comes to Clemson riding high after sweeping top 10 NCSU but started the year so-so

My doubts on the LSU pitching has been confirmed. Other than the opening game - pitching has been one of the problems with this Tiger team. Errors are also a huge problem. If they cannot improve on these two areas - all the hitting in the world cannot overcome them.
Baylor won the Sunday game 9 to 6. LSU committed 5 errors in the game.

Hitting (timely) was shit this weekend as well. The smoke clears when you step up in class.
LSU left 22 runners on base over 2 games (SAT/Texas & SUN/Baylor)
Texas is lethal this season. They have 2 front line stud pitchers like Vandy last season with Rocker and Lieter.

What’s this college baseball stuff. We any good?!?! So far the Vols are tearing the cover off the ball and the pitching is not to shabby either.

LSU and Tennessee are not scheduled in the regular season - so it will have to be at Hoover. But the LSU pitching needs to improve a lot if they are going to make noise this year. Hitting is pretty good though.

Yup, should be a great year. I do think they need to lever the field between the private schools and th public schools.

LSU avoided a sweep by Texas A&M by winning the final today 7 to 6. A&M had won the first two games of the series. LSU trailed the entire game into the bottom of the 8th and the score tied at 6. Dylan Crews drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th and LSU shut down the Aggies in the top of the 9th to hold on for the win.
My fear for the LSU team this year was the pitching staff and it could be a long year. The Aggies roughed up the Tiger pitching staff this weekend.

LSU drops another game to in state Louisiana Tech last night 7 to 6. Errors and pitching woes continue to plague the Tigers. Until these problems are solved, if they can be this year, LSU is an average team at best.

LSU continues to look bad - loses to the Gators 7 to 2. Same problem - pitching and defense and add no hitting in last nights game.

Well after looking so bad on Friday night - LSU takes the next two from the Gators to win the weekend series. LSU won 16 to 4 on Saturday and just posted a 11 to 2 win today. The Tiger bats came alive the last two days and the pitching looked pretty good. The Tigers now stand at 3-3 in the SEC. Big series win for LSU. Hope this gets them going.

Long season, but has started out pretty darn good!!! TN has been really impressive so far. Not easy to sweep your first two SEC Series, in particular @ Ole Miss.

Not a lot of activity on this site.
I love to keep up with State Baseball myself and I don't even click over here.
Tennessee just swept Ole Miss
Misssissippi State lost it's two best pitcher to TJ surgery and they are struggling. It could be a long year if they don't find some arms. The bats are starting to come around but the guys we expected to be good seem to be having issues.
One guys said it like this, even when the get ahead in the count 0-2, they throw junk pitches too far out of the zone until they come back with a fast ball right down the middle and it goes sailing. Oh well, State has Arkansas this weekend and I am hoping just not to get swept to at least keep the chance of the post season alive.

One of Life's big What If's for me..... What if Tommy John never had that surgery?
I hate if for these kids these days. Growing up it was major to have TJ surgery, now its like a sprained ankle.

LSU's defense bad again tonight and allowed Auburn to win 6 to 5. The defense allowed Auburn to score all six runs in one inning. Huge error in that inning.

NCBD, are you able stop for a day printing Football Natty Material (I realize you still have 3 years worth of printing to go) so that we can get some Dawg 9th Inning National Champs gear going.

Good to see teams like GA and TN doing well in baseball. TN is about to spend some $$$ on the ball park. Take note: Build it and they will come. At least, that is the hope.

Tennessee is loaded and a couple of freshmen pitchers are doing very well. The Vols look like a solid pick to make it to Omaha. They have a great weekend series coming up with Vandy.

The Vols have a closer that is running it up there between 98 and 104mph. His change-up is 91-92.
I mean, GTFO with that type of cheddah!

LSU brand Tigers win over the Auburn brand Tigers 8 to 2 in a game that just finished. LSU had better pitching tonight and they got 12 hits. But they did commit one error, but didn't allow any runs.
Way to geaux Tigers.
