Singer Gary Wright Dies At 80 After Health Battle
Renowned singer-songwriter Gary Wright has passed away at the age of 80 after battling Parkinson's and dementia for six years. Born in New Jersey in April 1943, Gary Wright initially gained recognition as the keyboardist for the British hard rock band Spooky Tooth. After the group disbanded, he pursued a successful solo career, releasing albums like "Extraction" and "Footprint" in 1970 and 1971. Wright's breakthrough came with his 1975 album, "The Dream Weaver," which produced two No. 2 singles, "Dream Weaver" and "Love is Alive". "The Dream Weaver" achieved remarkable success, selling 2 million copies, and its title track became a timeless classic. His music was featured in films like "Wayne's World," "The People vs. Larry Flynt," and "Toy Story 3". Wright's musical contributions extended beyond his solo career, playing keyboards on George Harrison's album, "All Things Must Pass".

I wasn't a huge fan of his but his songs always make me think of the 70's and easy listening music.
I also smile thinking about how "Dream Weaver" was used in Wayne's World.
Rest In Peace Gary.

I recently went to see Foreigner in concert and decided to wear a Spooky Tooth t-shirt. The connection here is that Mick Jones from Foreigner was also in Spooky Tooth. If you look at the history of the band, they had several members that went on to do great things.
