Great coach. Temper issues damaged his career. RIP Coach.

RIP indeed. He had his well documented flaws. But he was a terrific coach and was very entertaining.

Arguably the greatest coaching tree in the history of U.S. sports. Among others Coach K (of course), Chris Beard, and Mike Woodson, and, oh yeah, Bill Parcells (?!?) who was a part time assistant for the Army BBall team in '66-'67 (He was also on the football staff).

I know he was called the General. His temperament was so similar to George Patton. Tons of greatness. A very deep concern for his men that was covered by a very hard shell. So many of their team that loved them, but a significant number who hated them. Brilliant tactically. Stupid politically. Giants in their profession.

Great coach. Needed a little self control. RIP Mr. Knight.

For all his faults, Knight never approached NCAA violations and took a great deal of pride in his players graduating. Cheating was something from all I have heard, he loathed. Wonder how he would feel about Jim Harbaugh?

He was my moms fav and she always told me that if she ever found a soccer coach like him, she would pay anything for me to play for him. I have a lot of respect for him and all he did. Probably the greatest teacher of the sport.
