D'Andre Swift for the Philly Eagles was fined almost $10,000 for this hit. Please tell me why? I see absolutely zero reason for such. What am I missing?

NFL. No Fun League. Not For Long.
Seriously though, probably because he dropped his head and that’s a dangerous play for him and his opponent.

I'm gonna say it's about time. If a defensive player lowered his head like that and hit with the crown of the helmet they would be penalized, so why not an offensive player?
Goes along with "illegal hands to the face" except of course when a RB is stiff arming someone.

Ummmm...and maybe it is just me, but he hit with his shoulder, and his head is turned to the left on impact. Looks to me that the would be tackler, a smaller DB(??) had poor technique, is way too high, and D'Andre hit him across his chest and knocked him silly. The penalty called was "Unnecessary Roughness". All about fair play for Offense and Defense. Never liked how Offense was given leeway over Defense and all the protection for the Offensive players, but that was simply a RB running through a Defensive player who was standing way too tall, and took a hit from a shoulder that trucked him. Any way, just through my POV, but thank you all for your answers. Whether it registers the same with you all, I don't know...my only Exhibit, Exhibit A...

Just issue the flags and play flag football.
Kind of amazing - in my lifetime, Football is moving toward less contact and basketball moving toward more contact. Hmmmmmm.

Big guys push and shove - at times hammer each other. But the point I was trying to make - Football is going for less contact IMO and basketball more contact. If you are thinking about the Detroit Pistons, you are right.

With the view in the 7 sec clip and without slowmo or other angles, it appears to me he lowered his shoulder to initiate contact, not the crown of the helmet.

I played it at 1/4 speed and is really obvious, well...to me, it was straight up a good hit by a RB on a would be tackler. (And, yes, if you "click" to watch it on "YouTube", click the gear icon and change the speed of the playback to your liking.)

I completely agree that offensive players get away with way more than defensive players, and it needs to be leveled. But I did not see anything on this particular play which was obvious.
