I know its a day or two early, but thought it might be an appropriate time. I am thankful for a lot of things and the folks on this board is a real part of that joy. It has been super to have the chance to meet a bunch of you and hope to meet more before my time is up.
Just returned from a highly emotional 6 days in central Texas. Visited my old Troop Executive Officer and two more of my Lieutenant buddies that I had not seen in 44 years. Then at our 3d Armored Division Reunion I got to meet 3 more of my enlisted Soldiers when I was a Troop Commander. Those had also been 44 years ago when we were stationed in a small town northeast of Frankfurt. Got pretty emotional and lots of war stories over beer and booze. Am forever thankful for that cameraderie too.
Don't eat too much Turkey and enjoy Rivalry Week.

Although it's a sunny and balmy 59° here at the moment, a big change is starting soon. Looks like a White Thanksgiving in northern Wyoming this year.

For me like Bigdawgs, this forum has been a blessing to me. I enjoy writing threads and enjoy reading them. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving and if you are traveling - be safe. And don't eat too much.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the board. At this time last year, I was in the hospital with 3rd stage lung cancer. I'm still here after a year and damned thankful for it.

Don't know how many more times this will happen.
Enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I have so much to be thankful for including this board. Really enjoy the friendships that I’ve made here over the years.
6 yrs ago today, Anna and I were welcoming Will into this world for the first time. Little did we know what that first year’s journey would look like. The folks here definitely helped ease that journey with all of your love and support.
It will just be our small family together tomorrow (though we’ll have enough food for a small army). Enjoy everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Mine couldn’t be easier, a 5 minute commute to Mom’s place for a small family dinner. And I couldn’t be more thankful for that. I hope you everyone enjoys in their own way; and oh yea; some football to watch as well.

I remember as a kid having mincemeat pie along with the pumpkin. I never see the mincemeat these days. I assume it was not popular, but I really liked it. Hope y'all get enough to eat.
When I was stationed in Germany, our Wiesbaden and Mannheim Ski Clubs would bus to Zermatt for a 4 day weekend of skiing at the Matterhorn. We also brought our own turkeys and fixins and the hotel would cook them up for us. They did a great job cooking, but the carving left a bit to be desired at times.
Have a great day.

Grandma's mincemeat was always hand made with a little rum or bourbon... damn, it was delicious with a dollop of freshly made whipped cream... I never knew mincemeat was available commercially

My grandmother made a homemade mincemeat pie. Wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t that bad either.

I hope everyone had a great day and are not too full. Spent the day cooking the turkey and the rest of the family brought the rest. Ate too much as usual and am hoping I don't fall asleep before the Egg Bowl.

I put away more food than I needed. Great meal today. This might be the last big meal at my house. It is too much for my wife. But next Thanksgiving is a year off - so a lot can happen in a year.
Hope everyone had a great turkey day.
