"Tell me CFB is fucked without telling me CFB is fucked." Florida's starting RB transfered to another SEC school. I'll say it again...Ohio States starting QB transfered Transferring is one deal. Transferring in conference is another deal. But transferring to a hated rival nauseates me. It has happened to us and I wasn't happy and now it happens for us and I am not happy. Won't change who I pull for, but I fully understand how a fanbase would hate these guys. There was no small part of me who was not thrilled that Jermaine Burton only has one Natty. I was surprised CNS put up with Burton's Bullshit after the SEC Championship game. He's a POS.

This is a total farce. First, he quits on his team for supposedly wanting to enter NFL draft and now wants to go to another team. Don Quixote? Former Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa entered the transfer portal on Friday as he explores the options for his future, The Athleticβs Max Olson reports. After transferring initially from Alabama, Tagovailoa played at Maryland for four seasons, and he would go on to play in 41 games for the Terrapins while totaling 76 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns. His 11,256 passing yards with Maryland are the most in Big Ten history, as he broke Purdue great Curtis Painterβs record during the 2023 season. Tagovailoa has already used up five years of eligibility between Maryland and Alabama, so he would need the NCAA to give him a waiver in order to play a sixth season in 2024. It is unclear whether the NCAA will be willing to grant Tagovailoa the sixth year exception. Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa smiles while playing in a game. Tagovailoa, now a former Maryland quarterback, officially entered the transfer portal on Friday. Maryland coach Mike Locksley implied Tagovailoa was considering all options when speaking with the media last month when Tagovailoa chose to sit out of the bowl game. βWhen he came to sit down and then he made the decision that he didnβt want to play in the bowl game in an effort to pursue future opportunities, whether it be the NFL, whether it be transferring, if in fact there were more time available, it was a pretty easy conversation because the mutual respect was there,β Locksley said. At the time, Jeff Ermann of Inside MD Sports mentioned Miami as a logical target for Tagovailoa if he could transfer, which would allow him to play closer to his brother, Tua.

Why not give a college player 7 or 8 years eligibility. That why they could stay in school long enough to earn a PhD degree.

I wonder how the β7th yearβ player thing helps/hurts teams?
Look at OKSt.... in a world weβre top QBs are moving around for PT I wonder if it hurts OKSt to have him back? He was 15-14 in TD-INT ratio.... heβs nit a top level QB.... Iβm not sure what they had behind him but I wonder if everyone is happy he is back?
OKSt COULD have been a high target for some of these big transfers......
Old logic says this is great for OKSt... βhang the bannerβ some might say there..... but is it? As a TTU fan Iβm glad heβs back. Even if they play and lose to OKSt... it just opens up more prospects and he is consistently inconsistent....

QB Jayden Maiava transferring from UNLV to Georgia. I know Kirby wants to have 4 scholarship players on the roster, but am concerned a bit about how Stockton and Puglisi take this. Smart has been pretty successful in the portal and I hope this one works out.

Heading to USC While always a plus to have another QB with starting experience just in case, I don't really see the need for 4 scholarship QB's (disclaimer: I am not now nor have I ever been a college football coach)

Especially with the great example being set for them by coaches and ADs So, case in point, and this is in no way shape or form a knock on Saban, because let's be honest here, if anybody earned the right to go out on his own terms, and his own timeline, it is him, but how can we tell kids that transferring is bad, and you should keep your commitments when coaches don't announce until *after* early signing day, and *after* the transfer portal was open for a month? And now some other prominent coach will potentially leave to take over at Bama, leaving players who signed there in the same boat.

Now with the portal and NIL - we will the college football mess, maybe not forever, but the rest of my lifetime. Unless it is solved in a few years, which I am not holding my breath for.

Those incoming Freshman who have not stepped foot on campus are free to move about on their timeline - The are relieved of their NLI if chosen to do so. Those that are currently on the team and incoming early enroll Signees on campus, are given 30 days to enter the portal without any stipulation.

Not sure there currently is a "good" time to leave for another job. If it is done later, that coach misses the recruiting windows. It works much cleaner in the Pros when the season is done and I would guess very seldom does a coach leave one team to become coach of another.

I was addressing those who complain about kids transferring/changing their minds.

I think the early signing period should go away, and the transfer window should not open until after the NCG.

Hopefully there are minds out there that will make some good decisions about the portal and NIL. It is a giant mess right now.
