Let the rumor mill whirl, spin and fly !!!!!!!
Orange Bowl Cancels News Conference With FSU's Mike Norvell and Georgia's Kirby Smart
An Orange Bowl news conference with Georgia's Kirby Smart and FSU's Mike Norvell scheduled for December 7 was cancelled, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
Smart and Norvell did hold a press conference on Sunday, December 3.
It's unclear why a second conference was scheduled, but last year's Orange Bowl also featured two separate news conferences.
It's unclear why the second news conference was cancelled, though it could be for a number of reasons — travel logistics, scheduling conflicts, recruiting visits, etc.
However, after FSU's snub from the College Football Playoff — and with Georgia falling out of the playoff — the cancellation raises eyebrows. Some fans have already called for FSU to boycott the Orange Bowl.

If you think they are better than Bama, the surely, you think they can beat Georgia. Right? Why boycott when you can beat Georgia and shove it up all their asses?

That would be the stupidest thing for FSU to do as it would tarnish their future. Some chit stains for awhile like being a dumbass and boycotting the Orange Bowl, and only dissipates over time. Do they really want to play this game?
And, I would consider this akin to Michigan fans boycotting Game Day. Dear lord, people(FSU fans)...really???

Didn't Alabama boycott the 2009 Sugar Bowel? I seem to remember the "didn't want to be there" defense.

I think that last year's second presser got cancelled too. I have a feeling that Norvell and Smart said they don't have time for this shit with the transfer portal and signing day challenges. I honestly don't know how college coaches do it right now, especially if they are in the playoffs or a major bowl game. You have to try and prevent poaching of your roster while at the same time you have no choice but to poach others. Not sure how this process can continue.

Simple fix: keep early signing period in December. Move early portal window to the Tuesday after the NCG to the end of January. Keep traditional signing day in February. Have a spring portal window in May.

Wonder what it would cost all involved if they did refuse to play?

They would get blackballed. ACC would be pissed off. SEC would not want them. Maybe the B1G, but in years they were not playoff bound, a lot of bowls might tell them no. Their best bet would be to come out, fired up and whip Georgia.

Would make a lasting image and statement. Look teams have hold oits all all the time. FSU just shows up with too few players and they can’t be held responsible.... no blackball

Maybe then the Gators could get to a NY6 bowl as an emergency replacement

Only way to screw with these people is by hitting their pocketbook, and that would do it.

I guess you can only ask a coach so many times, "How did you and the team feel when the rankings came out and you were excluded?" before he gets tired of answering...

I have Orange bowl tickets but the game seems lackluster this year with two teams that were really in the CFP or bust mode. But it worked out since my wife has a birthday party to go in Fort Lauderdale over New Years.
