To be more accurate, a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the NCAA rule requiring them to sit out a year.

It will be like professional sports as colleges might start trading them. FCS schools can become the minor leagues.
About like everything else in this world - going to shitzzzz.

I sure as hell hope not. But I fear it is true. <smdh>
Glad I got to see one of the last NCs in person earlier this year. I am not sure how I am going to like the new era of CFB with that kind of bullshit with players jumping at any time, whenever they get the "feelies". May someone with an ounce of forethought and vision get this under control before CFB ruins college athletics all because of "greed"!
All the other sports in college athletics deserves the way it "was", not this bullshit of where college athletics is headed, all Capitan-ed by the almighty $$$$...aka...College Football. <smdh>
exhale...<sigh>

To be more accurate, a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the NCAA rule requiring them to sit out a year. So...you're telling me there's a chance! To further clarify, a federal judge issued a tro against the NCAA saying they could not require an athlete to sit out a year. The NCAA did not make the decision. The NCAA is expected to appeal. What the NCAA stated, in essence, is that they would go along with the judges order.

It’s all revolving aro7nd NIL and “anti trust”.....
When the old model went, the $$$ model all all involved took hold. Not much the NCAA can do. All a player has to do is sue for lost NIL and the NCAA is going to cave.
Like is said, the NCAA will have to END ALL SPORTS.... START OVER.... you can’t sue what doesn’t exist.
Only then can the schools rebuild a model and enroll players under their rules.

IF this is real, it means unlimited transfers for life..... welp.... good by last little tiny bit of CFB there was left.... wow.... I'm curious, but have you thought about the other side of this? This also means that the "haves" cannot stockpile 4 5 star QBs, or whatever. Players want playing time *now* and are transferring from some of the "bigger" schools. Georgia just had a former 5 star QB leave for Kentucky, former 4 star QB Kyle McCord is leaving tOSU, former 4 star QB Max Johnson is leaving aTm for UNC, Florida is losing 4 star QB, DB, and DL. Etc. Maybe TTU needs to start being active in recruiting the portal.

Etc. Maybe TTU needs to start being active in recruiting the portal. there are lots of sides to this and none of them are good. Even for the players.... Sure transferring 1 time.... or even 2 times if you graduate later can be good. But to bounce "every year"? could really screw up a degree, mentally screw them up, etc.... For teams its a night mare. for competition.... i mean, how many play books does a coach have to have if he has 15 players every year bouncing mourned from team to team IN your conference? to not have restrictions is insanity. How about the coming (sure it is) mid-season flip and play? UCLA has a QB all summer.... through setptember.... then flips to USC before they play and is able to do so? UCLA would have a week to change every play and package? there has to be restrictions. The days of recruits having a school and building , growing, are over. What if 3-star Crabtree ws pushed out becuase of a 5-star wanting to come in... What if 3-star Pat mahome? 2-star Travis Kelci? I mean lots of kids BecoME great where they are becuase they stayed for whatever reason...... now they can just jump jump jump. nothing about this is college football..... I mean, hell even the NFL has contracts and players are stuck. And some are getting LESS than college players now.... i ean, what next? schools going to relocate like NFL teams to bigger markets? ? you laugh, but look at were we are....

anyone notice that none of this shit happened before the insistence of crowning a National champion by playoff? Nothing to do with this. This is is a result of a lawsuit, and a judge putting a temporary restraining order against the NCAA rule blocking multi-time transfers. U.S. District Court Judge John Bailey issued a temporary restraining order on Wednesday against the NCAA rule requiring multi-time transfers to sit out a season. The ruling, which came in the Northern District of West Virginia, opens the door for transfers sidelined due to NCAA rules to be eligible immediately. The temporary restraining order is active for just 14 days, however. The ultimate legal fate of the NCAA's transfer restrictions has yet to be adjudicated. In the meantime, the decision marks another blow against the NCAA, which is reeling amid a changing a landscape in college sports that has seen the organizing body lose its ability to effectively govern. The NCAA is expected to appeal, and the next hearing has been set for Dec. 27. But for now, the NCAA is standing down on the issue. "As a result of today's decision impacting Division I student-athletes, the Association will not enforce the year in residency requirement for multiple-time transfers and will begin notifying member schools," the NCAA said in a statement. A pair of lawsuits -- one by the attorneys general from seven states and one from West Virginia basketball player RaeQuan Battle -- both allege the NCAA's transfer restriction violated antitrust law. Because Battle was a third-time, non-graduate transfer, he was denied immediate eligibility by the NCAA; however, Wednesday's ruling clears the way for the former Washington and Montana State guard to suit up for the Mountaineers as a key member of the team's rotation. Dozens of other second-time transfers around college basketball have also been sitting out to begin the 2023-24 season after their waivers were denied. The issue was prevalent in college football during the 2023 season as well. Most notably, North Carolina receiver Tez Walker became a face of the issue as the NCAA chose not to grant his waiver request until midseason. The NCAA Division I Board of Directors requested in late October that the NCAA staff and committees consider potential modifications to the current rules, which only allow second-time undergraduate transfers immediate eligibility in a couple of scenarios: First, a player can receive immediate eligibility if they have a physical injury or mental health condition that pushed them to transfer from a school. Second, the NCAA will consider "exigent circumstances" that could force a player to leave an institution, such as sexual assault or abuse. Under the NCAA rules, no other factors will be considered, including academic considerations or playing time. The enforcement of those rules has led to backlash and scrutiny against the NCAA, which has been criticized for what many deem a subjective waiver process. www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/judge-issues-restraining-order-against-ncaa-temporarily-granting-eligibility-for-multi-time-transfers/

anyone notice that none of this shit happened before the insistence of crowning a National champion by playoff? LMFAO...... everyone has been screaming for a playoff since CFB started.... Hell, we screamed for it every year of the BCS and the CFBPOC.... I think only 2 times in the CFBPO has #1 and #2 actually met in the title game..... just goes to show they would ahve got it wrong.... and hell a couple times #4 won it all..... They are not connected. I would say all this shit started when TV contracts started getting out of control, coaches salaries got out of control.... it got to big for players to not want money.... it was too big.
