Fear is probably not the right word. Is there a potential Saban replacement that you would just as soon not want to see if you are a fan of a rival?
As a UGA guy, I would just as soon see Dan Lanning work his magic in the Pacific Northwest. He is a Kirby Smart clone and he is younger. Word on Sirius XM College Sports Today is that Lanning was NOT in Tuscaloosa last night and that he is staying in Eugene. That might be a rumor as wrong as the one last night.

For Bama to remain a power - the new coach will have to be able to recruit as good as Saban - plus have the Saban coaching qualities.
There was a time of turmoil after Bear retired. Stallings was successful but left because the President, the AD and himself were not on the same page. More turmoil, until Bama hired Saban.
Bound to be a few burps before Bama regains their status and maybe it might not happen overnight. A new coach will have to prove he can retain the lofty heights that the Bama fans have become accustomed to.
No doubt it will be an eventful next year for Bama. With the portal, it will be interesting to see how many Bama players jump ship. A lot will depend upon who is the next head coach.

I would say Pete Carroll if he was younger, did not realize he is the same age as Saban. Lanning would definitely be a threat.

Maybe the Bama fans will gain some humility over the next few years.

Maybe the Bama fans will gain some humility over the next few years. You mean like they did when Spurrier was coach of the Gators?

Like when Saban was head coach at LSU - Tigers were 4-1 vs Bama.

No one. No one out there will be as good as Nick was at Alabama. And, Saban owned the Dawgs! So, yeah, put anyone in there, go for it!

I fear that Kirk Ferentz may move from Iowa to Bama and coach the Tide and I’m afraid Brad’s head would explode if that happened.

I don't want them to get Dabo, for obvious reasons. Now that UNC has idiotically hired Geoff Collins as DC, my prime candidate for Bama is out of circulation. Speaking of Prime, maybe he should step in for his insurance salesman buddy at UAT. He's sure done wonders for Buffalos. Maybe he should graduate to Elephants.
