Reminds of the year Brian Kelly took over. That year, LSU played the bowl game against Kansas State with 39 scholarship players and a WR at QB.
We are still recovering from that mess Corch O left behind.
I realize different circumstances, but end result is the same and with the right Corchin Staff, and understanding the it will be a patchwork approach for a few years, they can return to contention.

I seem to remember a couple of times this happened at Tennessee too. It sucks, but in one of our 2 times doing it we recovered quickly. Having a solid coach and AD makes a difference. I hope they get it right.

the admin passed on Grubb... I think that was a mistake They have to get this right, so maybe its due diligence. If they fumble this hire, it could be a long road before UDub is competitive again in the Big whatever. Oregon is rolling, tOSU, Mich, and to a lessor degree, Iowa, Wisky, and Ped State will remain competitive.

Seems Grubb really wanted and thought he would be the next head Corch.
“Though I wanted to be I will not be the next head coach at the University of Washington,” Grubb wrote in a note posted to social media. “It would have been a dream to stay here and fight to maintain the standard that had been reestablished. I showed up every day early and stayed late gladly to fight for my family…. and with tears in my eyes I know my last day in Husky Stadium has come.”

I hope passing on Grubb means they have a top tier candidate ready to sign...

Hopefully Coach "O" is in the rear view mirror. I just hope Kelly stays around for a few years. It seems he is righting the ship for the Bayou Bengals.

Wow. Had done a great job at Arizona. but he inherits a pretty bare cupboard... maybe that's best for implementing his system? I am expecting a poor inaugural season in the B1G then again, I didn't know what DeBoer was gonna bring either
