The greatest receiver in Auburn history, Terry Beasley died on Wednesday. At this point, it appears to have been suicide.
Beasley was Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan's go to guy on the Plain. I was fortunate to have been in Sanford Stadium in 1971 when undefeated Auburn met undefeated Georgia. The game was even late before Sullivan and Beasley went to work to beat the Dawgs. Pat Sullivan won the Heisman that day and Beasley was the primary reason for it...that, and Archie Manning getting hurt at mid season.
Beasley went on to play for 4 years in the NFL, but it was a injury plagued career that was concussion driven. Although the outcome that day went against my team, it was a privilege to see those two great players.

I remember the duo of Sullivan and Beasley. The Tigers didn't play Auburn every year back in those days. But we did play Auburn in 69 and 70 and managed to defeat them both years - a 21 to 20 thriller in Baton Rouge in 69 and 17 to 9 in Auburn in 70. We did not play Auburn in 1971, Sullivan's senior year.
The 69 game against Auburn was the first time the two teams had met in 42 years. SEC scheduling was strange back in that time period. LSU and Auburn played a few home and home games and about the early to mid 90's started playing on a yearly basis.
