inutes ago Verne Lundquist, the CBS Sports broadcaster, is beloved by SEC fans for his time in the booth during the 3:30 p.m. ET “SEC on CBS” games.
Lundquist, 83, stepped down from the CBS booth calling SEC games after the 2016 season, but he continued to call college basketball games and The Masters. But CBS announced on Wednesday that April’s Masters will be Lundquist’s last on the network.
Some of his best calls were the 1986 Masters with his “Yes, sir!” for Jack Nicklaus, and also Tiger Woods’ putt in 2005 when Uncle Verne said, “In your life have you seen anything like that?”
