Records eventually are broken but, like this one, some are going to stand a long time like this one.

She's an incredible talent. I will be disappointed if/when she breaks Peter Maravich's record. Pete played before the 3 pt shot was introduced. Had he played with the 3 pt shot, the record would be once of those that untouchable, by a mile.
Different times...Different Game.

Speaking of Peter, I was blessed to watch him at Stegman Coliseum while I was at UGA. He propelled LSU to a close win with an incredible display of dribbling and shooting. At the end of the game he hit the game winner after controlling the ball for the longest time. It was the first time I have seen the student body of an opponent stand up and give a standing ovation. Deflating in one way but understandable after what we had witnessed. Only other time I saw that was at a game in Oxford when 34 leapt over the line, rolled off and walked into the endzone. Ole Miss students started yelling Herschel...Herschel. Congrats to Caitlan...a truly great player.

Of course I wasn't born when he played at LSU but did see him a few times in NOLA during his NO Jazz days. I was too young to understand his talent.
He avg. 44.2 pts per game during his career at LSU. That's just silly...again, no 3pt line.
Im not trying to hijack this thread, CK is amazing and has Steph Curry range. The logo three for the record was so apropos. I was actually quite pissed when Angel Reese did the 'you cant see me' at the end of the title game last year. Classless IMO. Although I was happy to see Reese was one of the first to congratulate her on Social Media.

Missed this game but I have sat down and watched her play few times this year. She’s really fun to watch and I wish her all the best. Congrats on the record.
While, Pete was before my time and I was a Magic Johnson guy, but I loved reading about Pete and his career at LsU. Love the stories of his dad Press driving the car down the street and Pete with the window rolled down dribbling the ball

Lynette Woodard's scoring record not recognized When Woodard started playing college basketball, the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women was the governing body for sports. The NCAA did not start sponsoring women's sports until 1982, holding the first NCAA women's tournament that season.
Because Woodard's 3,639 career points at Kansas predates the NCAA's sponsor of women's sports, her stats and records are not found or recognized in the NCAA's official record books.

Clark should easily break that as well, with 4 regular season games remaining plus tournaments

Pistol Pete all of his games in the John Parker Ag Center. I remember Pete's freshman year. The freshmen team would play games before the varsity game. During Pete's freshman year - the Ag center would be sold out for the freshmen game. Then when the game was over - there was a lot of empty seats for the varsity game. LSU basketball sucked in that era - until Pete started playing on the varsity.
Then the Ag center filled up for the next three years as Pete roamed the court. After Pete played his final game - the new arena was built and called LSU Assembly Center later the name changed to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Congrats to Caitlin Clark. She is doing tremendous things for the sport and for Iowa in general.
That said, it felt good to get one over on her and Iowa when they came to Nebraska for a visit this past Sunday!

Pistol Pete dribbled a basketball in his sleep I think.
