Emmitt is on the radar, but he didn't win a Heisman or NC, like Danny. And you said 1 year for Danny??? GTFO!! Damn right, what was the Nebraska score again there big boy??? Did he not lead them to the CG? WTF? He was also All-American that year. How many NCs did Emmitt play in? Hell, Errict Rhett broke Emmitt's records.

Danny's teams were outstanding with a coach that revolutionized the below average SEC. He was a product.

Crabtree, Thomas, Rivera, Welker Seriously this time, didn't you just tell us that Bam Morris was one of the best college RBs ever? I thought about Bam and Habspard, and Harrell....... Harrell was the only other choice really. The others were great players, but Bam had off field issues that I did not want to put on our Rushmore. Gabe Rivera is a CFB hall of fame DT... "Señor Sack", his nfl career cut shot by a parlaying car crash.... Thomas, Welker, and Crabtree will all be in at least one HOF..... Harrell is there for sure, but I think Crabtree would be the one he replaced....

Initial thought for KU is Gale Sayers, Todd Reesing, and Aquib Talib. Have to ponder the 4th.
ISU is Jared Allen and Merrill Hoge for sure.

Hell, Errict Rhett broke Emmitt's records. It was all all Danny, nothing to do with the 2 AAs he was throwing to in Anthony & Hilliard. Let's see who Emmitt had........

All these Rushmore guys with baggage..... Not sure id put any player with an investigation, scandal, was suspended for, arrested, charged or otherwise suspect of a crime.....
Would nit want yo constantly have to explain it away every year people saw it..... If you have to say "he was cleared of....." Or "never actually charged"...... Etc, I would not give him the honor.

CJ Spiller, Jeff Davis, Steve Fuller, Banks McFadden (played quarterback, RB, DB, and punted. Also starred on the basketball and track teams. still holds school record for 22 punts over 50 yards)
Others considered: William and Michael Dean Perry, Brian Dawkins, Sammy Watkins, Tajh Boyd, Homer Jordan, Perry Tuttle

Might want to add George Morris, Billy Lothridge and Bill Curry too. Joe Hamilton I thought about Joe, Clint Castleberry, and Billy Lothridge. Billy is close because he was so iconic in Dodd's 3rd down punt play. Godsey was actually a lot more effective in O'Leary's offense than Hamilton, primarily because he didn't put too much on himself alone to get things done. He was a team player and used the team as a whole. Morris is a legend, but his name is not as prominent now as Randy Rhino, Pat Swilling or Rock Perdoni. Curry would not be accepted on a Tech Mount Rushmore; he liked Alabama more, and of course, Alabama has loved him right back.

Ameche, Dayne, Hirsch, and Richter. Pretty hard not to put Melvin on the list Funnily enough Ameche, Dayne, Hirsch and Richter are exactly my four..... Super easy for me not to put Melvin on there. He was an awesome back but he didn't change the culture or the history of the Badgers the way the above four did... The one's it's hard for me to not include are Billy Marek, Joe Thomas, Tim Krumrie, Dave Schreiner, Mike Webster, Allan Shafer, Ron Vander Kelen and Barry Alvarez (I know Barry was never a player so he can't be on this one but he and Pat Richter are totally responsible for the turn around of the entire athletics program not just football)
