I would think that Miami's would have to include the Heisman winning National Champs, Testaverde and Torretta. Then, I'd say Michael Irvin and either Jim Kelly or one of many defensive greats. Jesus, alot. Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis, Kellen Winslow, Ed Reed ... this is truly a tough one. Fuck em. (except Sean) I would just put the whole 7th floor crew on there.

All these Rushmore guys with baggage..... Not sure id put any player with an investigation, scandal, was suspended for, arrested, charged or otherwise suspect of a crime..... Would nit want yo constantly have to explain it away every year people saw it..... If you have to say "he was cleared of....." Or "never actually charged"...... Etc, I would not give him the honor. My god give it a fucking rest for one day. And you would only have players of a quality to put on a Hill Rushmore. LOL. Of all the responses.... the FSU fans get the most upset at this..... go figure. point proven. FTR, i just explained why i would not put Bam Morris, arguably the best RB in TTU history on our Rushmore because of off field issues.... I did not put Hanspard on it because of his off field issues.... So i explained why the 2 best RBs in TTU history were not on ours, and you get extremely defensive even though i did not name FSU or your players in my post... hmmm.... ok. FTR, FSU has a ton of great players, i think Winston was a great Football player, but Your "Rushmore"? a place to be the face, literally of your program? I think you have to weigh everything and i would not put him there. FTR2, Newton on Auburns Rushmore would be wrong IMO too. He was there for one year, a controversial investigation, and gone. Not sure a 1 time, 1 year player should be on your Rushmore.

And I saw all four play in college. Cannon was my freshman year at Tigerland and the national championship. Ding, that was a long time ago.
Three Louisiana players and one Texan-Faneca.

It was a fun thread for a minute. But David does make a good point. On your Mt. Rushmore, I would think you want guys that represented your team as the best, both on and off the field.

Any bammer list without John Hannah is NOT legit. Or Bart Starr

Ameche, Dayne, Hirsch, and Richter. Pretty hard not to put Melvin on the list Funnily enough Ameche, Dayne, Hirsch and Richter are exactly my four..... Super easy for me not to put Melvin on there. He was an awesome back but he didn't change the culture or the history of the Badgers the way the above four did... The one's it's hard for me to not include are Billy Marek, Joe Thomas, Tim Krumrie, Dave Schreiner, Mike Webster, Allan Shafer, Ron Vander Kelen and Barry Alvarez (I know Barry was never a player so he can't be on this one but he and Pat Richter are totally responsible for the turn around of the entire athletics program not just football)
Yeah, Melvin may not have changed the culture, but his two year run as UW running back was the best 2 year period of any Wisconsin running back easily, and it would've been better if he actually started 2 years ago. He was easily one of the 10 most talented UW players, and I think when it's all said and done he will end up in the top 5. I agree that Barry makes the list easily if you count coaches. Don't see how you can have Allan Shafer on there.....He may have had his jersey retired, but he also started like less then 5 games before he was killed vs Iowa.

Archie, Eddie George, Chris Spielman, Orlando Pace.
Honorable mention: Troy Smith, Mike Doss, Braxton Miller.
If coaches are involved Woody Hayes is there along with Paul Brown, Jim Tressel, and Urban Meyer would be my 4 on coaching Rushmore.

Any bammer list without John Hannah is NOT legit. Or Bart Starr Bart Starr was never a big "star" at Alabama. His accomplishments at Bama don't come near the accomplishments of plenty of others. What he did with the Packers has nothing to do with Bama.

Hannah, Don Hutson, Derrick Thomas, and Ozzie Newsome.

Any bammer list without John Hannah is NOT legit. I would agree, He said pick 4, I could have also picked Dwight Stephenson, Chris Samuels, Ozzie Newsome, or Mark Ingram, But I always thought our defense was more impactfull. I also could have picked a lot of old timers, but I never saw them play. When I was little kid, I thought Johnny Musso was the greatest ever, but what did I know, I was a kid.

Cornelius Bennett, Derrick Thomas, Leroy Jordon, Woodrow Lowe Gotta put Hannah up there before Lowe. Too many players to pick from really. Bama would need at least 12 spots to avoid leaving worthy players out. I mean, no one has even mentioned Don Hutson yet...he created several of the pass routes run by receivers today. He was the Babe Ruth of Receivers. Edit: Didn't see where Zach listed Don "Hudson".

Any bammer list without John Hannah is NOT legit. Or Bart Starr We're talking about college players, Starr was not noteworthy in his college career. Probably because he played under the worst coach Bama ever had, Ears Whitworth 3 years 4-24-2

That's kind of something I struggled with as well Klink. Some of the old guys I didn't see play and played such a different game I had trouble adding. Hopalong Cassidy, Jancowic, Les Horvath, etc won the Heisman trophy and weren't even in my honorable mentions (maybe should have been). Just so tough to narrow the list.
If you were to ask my dad this question he would probably have two of the same guys as me (Spielman and Archie).
Eddie was my favorite player growing up and when he was so dominant I was like 8 and thought he was the greatest player ever. It's also why Doss (I was a teenager when he was the leader of the defense that won a MNC) is on my honorable mention list.

I grew up an Auburn fan in a Crimson Tide household. I remember watching John Hannah and Johnny Musso ("The Italian Stalion") Hannah ALWAYS went full motor and was a beast. Personality wise he is a dickhead but his accomplishments at Alabama and with the Patriots as an OL man are exceptional.

Like I said on this one, these are my favs, only Jamal made the Mt Rushmore that I said were my best. Although, I forgot about Gault for my best list. He would be honorable mention with Holloway.

One of the best secondary players ever to play at UT and probably the best playing in CFB while he was there.

I could not see why he would chose UT, over Bama, and Auburn. I literally, physically ran into him at a bar one night when rounding a corner. I looked up at him and said, "You're Aaron Fucking Sears!" He just laughed. Some of his friends bought me and my buddies some beers. He was a good dude.
