For those keeping score, 8&4 is up to 16 players in the portal Is Max Johnson one of them? No, where is he going go? He's in a perfect spot...maybe he can tranfer to the yell squad or some other cultist type activity going on there.

Saw this stat yesterday... Schools with the most players to officially enter the transfer portal today: Virginia Tech (11) Texas A&M (10) Clemson (9) Miami (9) Ole Miss (9) Washington State (9) Alabama (8) I was looking at Alabamas portal list which now sits at a total of 12 players, 5 of which are O lineman. I dont care who you are, that kind of loss of depth at the most important (outside QB) position can't just be brushed of a 'processed'. Auburn can use them. No OL depth. Biggest failure recruiting wise over the past ten years.

It seems Sun Belt Billy is losing over 30 players for various reasons. Only one healthy QB on the roster and he's a walk on.
Similar to LSU last year when they played KState in the bowl game with 39 scholarship players and WR at QB.

Pete Thamel @petethamel · 1h Sources: West Virginia QB JT Daniels intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He'll have at least one year of eligibility, and it could two years depending on whether he could get a medical redshirt for 2019. He's been the quarterback at USC and Georgia prior to WVU.

Only enough funds to cover one year of NIL? I know you're kidding but 8&4 have some of the deepest pockets in the country. IMO, moreso that these kids followed the money without any sense of the truly knowing the staff, college station which sucks, the cult like atmosphere, that yell leader thing, etc.... They will throw more money at those freshman that stay, and double down again on this recruiting cycle. They've gone down that rabbit hole and no turning back now. Yes totally in jest. Well aware that they will throw money at the program. Agree with your assessment of culture. My cousin’s son just looked at TAMU for engineering definitely solid school for that but he ultimately chose the balance of academics and hot chicks at ASU. Lol.

It was a simple lack of spacing in the f u n d. The players thought it would be a fun d, meaning the defense had fun. It wasn't fun, so they are Departing.

Not sure if it is accurate or not, but Tom Luginbill reported this morning that over 1900 players have entered the transfer portal since it began and 40% have found themselves without a playing slot on any level at all.

I think it’s pretty accurate. I think many, if not most, of those that enter are “encouraged” by their current team or coach to enter. Kind of like the coach asking his player if he’s met Mohammed and Jugdish -

There is a rumor out there that Miami is offering $1M for Alabama's Dallas Turner. I don't think Turner has even entered the Transfer portal yet. Again, rumor only at this time.

LSU lost its first member of the 2022 football team Tuesday when sophomore wide receiver Jack Bech announced he was entering the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Bech went from a full-time starter in 2021 to a player that dealt with both injuries and limited playing time this past season.
And then the second one - Sophomore cornerback Damarius McGhee of Pensacola, Florida is seeking a transfer after appearing in only one game against Auburn this season

LSU has two players to enter the Portal. Jack Bech a WR didn't play as much this year as last. He was injured some this year and had a couple of muffs on punt returns and kickoffs that cost the Tigers. But he was a sure handed receiver and I hate to see him go. But Tigers are deep at WR.

CHAPEL HILL, NC - AUGUST 27:
Few college football quarterbacks were better than North Carolina's Drake Maye this season.
But following his sensational 2022 season, some wondered if Maye could enter the transfer portal, perhaps leveraging his big season into a starting role - and some big NIL money - at a more prominent football school.
That won't be happening, though.
Wednesday night, following the loss of North Carolina's offensive coordinator to Wisconsin - and amid the growing transfer portal rumors - Maye re-affirmed his commitment to the Tar Heels.
"Could never leave this place, I’m a Tar Heel," he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday night.
Earlier Wednesday, UNC's offensive coordinator, Phil Longo, left the Tar Heels for the same position on Luke Fickell's staff at Wisconsin.
That departure led some to wonder if Maye could follow Longo to Wisconsin or consider playing for another school.
Maye has re-committed to the Tar Heels, though. He will be a Heisman Trophy contender heading into the 2023 season.

Mississippi State running back Dillon Johnson announced he was entering the transfer portal on Wednesday and had some parting words for Bulldogs coach Mike Leach on the way out. In a statement posted to Johnson's Twitter account, he thanked his family and friends for their support and Mississippi State's players, trainers and fans, whom he credited for helping him build character and skills. It sounds like Leach.... i mean, that end of the year speech in 2009 that was so epic and full of curse words.... leach is the kind of coach that will hear a kid talk about leaving and literally tell him 'fuck you, get the fuck outta hear, your a pussy anyway"..... thats just his style. RUMOR was that he will be stepping down because of health issues according to redraidersports.com...... haven't heard anything about it but its a rumor... ?

The transfer portal and NIL consequences are blurring lines so much between college and professional sports, it makes me wonder whether a college would one day soon be allowed pick up a wash-out pro off waivers or a college player could opt to suspend play at NCAA level to go pro for 3 to 10 years, then come back, finish a degree, and still keep eligibility. For all intents and purposes, college sports are becoming the minor leagues of all the major pro sports now.

Roster management has to be a coaches strong point now, I can't imagine having to replace 1/4 of your roster or more every year along with recruiting players during the season. Coaches had better have a plan or they won't be around long.

If Jayden Daniels stays at LSU, I would expect Nuss to enter the portal. His performance against Georgia in the SEC championship game in the second half would have a lot of teams in line to obtain him.
