If AD Mitchell is leaving it will be much like Dom Blaylock. Bringing in those two guys from Mizzou and Miss State coupled with this recruiting class and there is only so much room. Loved the character of Blaylock through all of his injuries and the same for A.D. Will never forget, winning touchdown against Bama and Ohio State.

AD Mitchell to Texas is unofficially official, so the rumor mill states! He has a kid back in Texas. Makes sense if you want to be near your kid. Plus, I understand Texas and Texas A&M have some NIL money.

I wish AD well, we saw this year we could get along without him from the Oregon game to the OSU game and if he needs the money for family reasons I understand why he did it.

Plus, I understand Texas and Texas A&M have some NIL money. I mean, he can do what he wants and i have no hard feelings toward him. But, for some reason i think he is using his kid as an excuse. Otherwise, why would there also be USC rumors. I'd rather him just say i want more NIL money and more stats to try to make it in the NFL. (if that was the case).

From Dandy Don's website:
"HOW LSU HAS FARED IN THE TRANSFER PORTAL
Fifteen players who suited up for LSU in the 2022 season entered the portal during the 45-day window. That may seem like a lot, but it’s “par for the course” in college football these days. And when you compare what LSU lost to what it gained, I’m sure you’ll agree that Brian Kelly and his staff made out very well.
Of the 15 Tigers who entered the portal, only three made starts for the Tigers this past season. Those were sophomore WR/PR Jack Bech, TE Kole Taylor and OL Cameron Wire.
It’s no secret that I really like Bech. He’s from my hometown of Lafayette and is someone I always pulled for. But the reality is there were seven Tigers who finished with more receptions than him and four will be back next year, along with several talented newcomers.
Kole Taylor played an important backup role while LSU was thin at the tight end position, but with Mason Taylor returning and three highly-regarded freshman tight ends coming in, his playing days were numbered.
As for Cameron Wire, he was relegated to second string after a rough performance against Florida State in the opener and played in only three games. He would have likely seen very little action in his final year as a Tiger.
None of the other Tigers from the 2022 roster who entered the portal logged significant playing time last year, although the dozen did include two fan favorites in QB Walker Howard and OL Kardell Thomas.
Perhaps more significant, the dozen included three cornerbacks, two edge rushers and two linebackers, including LB Demario Tolan, who may have been the most significant loss of them all. Those departures made those three positions — along with defensive tackle — LSU’s biggest recruiting needs, and Brian Kelly did a fantastic job filling them.
At cornerback, Kelly brought in four guys from the portal, including former 5-star Denver Harris (Texas A&M) and freshman All-American Darian Chestnut (Syracuse), as well as three from the high school ranks, including Rivals 5-star Javien Toviano.
At the Edge spot, Kelly brought in three high school recruits, including 247Sports 5-star Dashawn Womack, and two portal additions, including Ovie Oghoufo, who played under Kelly for three years at Notre Dame and put up huge numbers at Texas last year.
At defensive tackle, LSU brought in three quality transfers who will provide depth behind Maason Smith and Mekhi Wingo after not signing any in December. The three transfers include Paris Shand of Arizona, Jordan Jefferson of West Virginia and Jalen Lee of Florida.
Lastly, LSU needed to bring in a linebacker or two to fill that remaining need and did that yesterday with the addition of Omar Speights, a first-team All-Pac 12 selection. And from what I’m hearing, LSU might not be done. Remember, there are still other linebacker targets on LSU’s radar, including Ashanti Cistrunk of Ole Miss."
One thing the portal does is give players another choice. If they aren't getting the playing time they think they deserve, they can enter the portal. And good players from a lower ranked team might go to a team that they think gives them a chance at playing for a better team.
But it is a change in the way that some of us maybe don't like. But again things in life changes for sure. And the portal is one of them.

Arik Gilbert - so much natural talent. But it takes more talent in order to be a great player.

He probably could have gone to SJ's Liquor and Vape Shop and they could have worked out a NIL deal for the value of items stolen: $1,672.07.
Dumb, dumb and dumber.

Gotta love the Athon headline of this article... "Former Georgia Tight End Arik Gilbert Arrested for Vape Shop Burglary" What in the fuck does Georgia have to do with this? He is a Nebraska Cornhusker, a Matt Rhule player. He WAS a Georgia Bulldog who first tried to become a Florida Gator, and originally an LSU Tiger. So, I ask again, Athlon, why the Georgia mention? Oh yeah, it garners more clicks than saying, "Nebraska TE arrested..."! F' you, lazy ass Athlon!

Guy took a large rock, busted out the window/door, and when the police showed up they caught walking towards them with a bag full of stuff.
So much wasted talent but I suspect he has some mental health issues that are impacting him every day.

Yeah, that video of the break in and the arrest sure doesn't buy him any sympathy from me. He had four institutions throw every resource they had to help him with his issues. He apparently is beyond all that type of help and needs to be far removed from football. Good luck!

So, I see the Alabama OT which transferred to Iowa this offseason is already transferring back to Alabama. And some folks are all for such for these players. <smh>. This chit has to get under control.

Other college students can transfer, why can't they? I agree with CFF, I see nothing wrong with allowing a player to transfer once. If they transfer again in a calendar year they should have to sit out a year.

Alabama OT Proctor transfers to Iowa in January 2024. Iowa OT Proctor(same person) transfers back to Alabama in March 2024.
What, if any, should be his reality of the 2024 CFB Season?
Should he be able to play for Alabama in 2024? Just asking a question out loud.
