WVU's offense looks like it is clicking on all cylinders...However they did not find a defense in the off season...

clicking on all cylinders against a glorified high school level team. They need to improve A LOT on D if they are going to be considered for NC. Wasn't impressed at all with what I watched, not bashing just stating opinion

Mark this one down - all BCS confernce champs finiish 11-1 and at least one and I'm hoping for 2 or 3 non-bcs champs finish 12-0 -
Untill the NCAA decides who is and isnt Div1A - bcs - live with it when it happens -

Wasn't impressed at all with what I watched, not bashing just stating opinion Uh ... Gotta disagree. The defense didnt play great but they werent completely horrible. If you were watching a few 3rd down plays that I saw then you must have seen the following. 1. Tight end pass caught in a full dive at his fingertips. 2. Guy had already fallen down and caught it after he had shifted his weight slightly .. Lucky grab. 3. Simmons is a very good reciever. He and the tight end were the only ones with any luck vs wvu. I would also like to point out that this is the FIRST game of the season. PEE WEE Football could score against just about any team in the nation. I guess Mississippi State is diaper league. Western Michigan is a better team in my opinion.

Whoa now chi, you seriously think West Michigan is a better than MSU? Sorry bro but I'm not buying that.

They played better didnt they? I didnt see 7 turnovers that were just handed away. They played some ball control as well. That is better than anything MSU did. Just because you are SEC does not mean that WMU is not a better team than MSU. MSU played horrible football. LSU Should have won that game by 45. And they did. Perhaps its just that many fans underappreciate the WVU offense.

Damn chi. Don't you think some of those turnovers were due to the fact that the LSU D took away all available options?
I didn't see the WVU game but I know they have powerful offense. They should put up that many points against such an inferior opponent. Just like LSU should have shut out MSU. Both accomplished their goals. I still don't buy that the directional school WVU played is better than MSU.
What are you're comments on UofL lighting up the directional school they played? The "my team scored more on their chump team than yours" card has been played. It usually doesn't mean much.
Just for your information. Oklahoma St. had what is considered a good offense in the country last year.

There is a good reason they took out the margin of victory portion of the rankings. It means squat. It is how you win that matters. I would think Florida proved that last season.

I know I'm a WV homer, but giving up 277 yds of offense isn't too shitty. WMU only had 32 yds rushing and had 245 yds passing. Although WV did give up 14 points in the first half, WMU really only had one sustained drive in the 2nd half. And this wasn't a glorified high school team. It was a MAC division champion who had 18 starters back from their bowl team of last year.
WV's pass defense is the thorn, and it still didn't look too pretty today. I have to believe that they were playing pretty conservative on defense. They did not have a lot of blitz packages today. But giving up 245 yds passing is still not what I was hoping to see today.
The WV offense is pretty scary looking.

Yeah, I wish our defense would be more assertive. They need to address that quickly. The offense was in gear all day. It was nice to see Devine and Sanders get to play in the 4th quarter. I think they will be exciting additions.

Ok so what have we all learned today? LSU needs to work on offense. WVU needs to work on defense. And Appalachian state is a national title contender.
