Some of you may have already seen the Noel Devine videos on YouTube.Com but we got to see this kid perform for the first time on Saturday in the 4th Quarter. He made some nice cuts and scored his first TD. The crowd went nuts when he scored. He seems very humble in news interviews. Jock Sanders is the other freshman RB and was quite impressive, as well. I looked on YouTube.Com for something on Sanders but couldn't find anything. Both of these guys are pretty small (approx. 5'8" and 180 lbs.) but more slippery that snot on a doorknob! I think we'll be hearing a lot about these two kids in the next few years. When I see elusive RB's like this it gets my heart pumping! Hope you all have a great week of CFB!

Yeah, USCGameCock, we actually do have a kid named Jock Sanders! I never thought of it until you brought it to my attention... but that sort of sounds unpleasant, doesn't it? ;D Thanks for keeping me straight!

Homers You bet yer ass, Goose! How 'bout them eers?! How about a alternating set of Slaton/Schmidt/Devine and Slaton/Devine/Sanders (maybe in a wishbone)? ;D Gawd, those two rookies looked good in the 4th Quarter!

I actually am starting to think that Jarret Brown might be our best "NFL" prospect on our entire team...I know that sounds ridiculous, but it might just be true...

Jarret Brown is a stud. The homer in me says he will definitely be playing in the NFL. People will be saying stuff about him... if they ever get to see him play. What's White doing playing ahead of him anyways?

Thank God it's you and I know you're joking, but as far as the NFL scouts think....I would imagine they see a little Culpepper and JaMarcus Russell in Brown...

He's much more mobile than either Culpepper or Russell. He has a gun for an arm like them, He is more like the SU hero Donovan McNabb, but with better size and speed than Donovan. I think the NFL scouts will fall in love with him. He's got the great size of an NFL QB, I'm glad he's a Mountaineer.

IF... IF... they get to see him play! He is impressive. Brown has done a fantastic job when he get the opportunity and I hope he gets a shot. I think White is small for an NFL quarterback but they might switch him to a WR. I don't know. I grew up in Morgantown and graduated from WVU (1981 and 2002) and I can't remember a more exciting time to be a Mountaineer! I got wood, baby!!! ;D

I have to say, I made a wager with a guy on CBS that I would get three warnings for acting stupid before midnight last night and I got two, so I lost the bet. Anyway, a legit question to WVU fans, which I will remind you I am a fan of, I just enjoy screwing with the boneheads on CBS because they get so uptight. If Slaton goes down to injury or White goes down to injury how much will it effect the play calling and offensive sets WV runs. If DMAC or Jones goes down Arkansas runs completly different plays. And our offense is pretty much basic, is WVU any different?

Sleepy, We don't change our offensive philosophy when one of those 2 goes down...we just change which plays we run. We still run the ball at least 60% of the time...it's just when Slaton goes down White and Schmitt carry the burden, and when White went down last year, his backup (the aforementioned Jarett Brown) takes over and Slaton gets more touches...
I think that's what our offense so hard to stop...we have so many weapons that can burn an opposing defense and we keep the pressure on w/ the no huddle and overall team speed...

Goose pretty much said it all. I will add that Sleepy said that if Dmac goes down that the offense becomes basic. At least I think that is what was said. DMAC has an offense that is pretty much based on his play. The offense (from what I see) is aoll about Dmac. In the WV offense Slaton and White are keys to the offense but can be replaced. We may not have the offensive firepower we once had but there are very good backups. That is a small problem when you have true freshman as a backup. Jarrett Brown is more of a QB that you might see in an NFL uniform. He is tall with a good arm. Pocket passer with running ability. He still fits in the offense and they run plays like Goose explained.

chiapet the Arkansas offense is based largely on DMAC and Felix Jones but it starts with number 5 DMAC, this year we run the Wildcat which is the play you were referring to, but the offense is a lot of play action. All plays start going toward DMAC and Jones is in motion. When David Lee came in he installed the Dallas Cowboy offense when they had Emmitt Smith. That is what we are running now, no more trick plays and weird shit like last year with Malzahn. The wildcat package was tweaked and is still run, but DMAC lines up at QB on many other plays this year. Arkansas is with DMAC and Jones even without a passing game a complicated offense and very difficult to stop, because there are many options including a lot of short quick hitter passes. Does WV have those options with one or both of your studs out is what I was getting at. No doubt in my mind they have talent and will still be effective, but will they remain on the NC stage with one or both gone. I hope we don't have to find out but in Arkansas' case we aren't on the stage but if we lost DMAC we would be about as bad as Michigan or Notre Dame!
