First time in an MLB Post Season that there was ever an 8-5-3 double play in any game in any inning. It was also the first time in an MLB Post Season that any outfielder has ever started a double play that ended a game.

Hopefully that momentum and spark travels with them to Philly

Im not sure if it was the SS or 2B that relayed to first for the final out, but that was an amazing play.

The whole sequence was pretty amazing.

Not exactly the same but reminiscent of the Jeter flip to get Giambi at home Getting to the right place at the right time That was my exact thought when I saw that play on the news this morning. Bang Bang and not a second to spare. The transition has to be one motion.

Phils will wrap it up tomorrow. Braves pitching has zero chance and all those home runs mean zilch in playoff baseball. Phils and D Backs.

Hopefully the Phils got all that out of their system tonight. Strider did well against them in game 1. But Philly's pitching has been the difference. 7 runs over 3 games against the Braves lineup is pretty great.

First time ever - Two Texas teams meeting in the AL championship. And I believe Houston will host.

Hopefully the Phils can clinch in Game 4. Don’t want to head back to Atl.

The five teams with the best records during the regular season are 1-12 in this year's playoffs.

Interesting 3 innings so far. Braves pretty much getting set down in order while the Phils are threatening every inning. Yet, no score. It is high drama for sure. I don’t have a rooting interest in this game or series. Just enjoy seeing exciting postseason baseball.

The teams exchanged solo HRs in the 4th. Strider finally showed some of his great stuff that inning, with the exception of the hanger he left out there for Castellano.

Phillies up 2 to 1 heading into the 7th inning. All the runs so far - three solo HR's.

Bases loaded, 2 outs, best player at the plate and don't get squat out of it.

Give the Phillies credit. They have held a team that averaged over 5 runs per game all season long to 2 runs per game. Their pitching has been superb. I hope the D Backs crush them.

good thing the Bravos had one of their best offensive years in history only to forget how baseball bats work for 3.5 games out of a 4 game series. what a horrendous showing.

No different than Hockey when goaltending gets hot. It happens. Phils are going to be a tough out for the remaining teams. Hope they put it all together this year.

No different than Hockey when goaltending gets hot. It happens. Phils are going to be a tough out for the remaining teams. Hope they put it all together this year. Sorta. But there is also a big difference. Nobody in hockey is sitting around for a week of nothing while future opponents are playing, unless one series goes 4 and the future opponent goes 7. But everyone is playing everyone from the start. I agree that the team with the hot goalie will usually win because that player is so important...but there is one goalie and not 4 different ones too. All these teams deserved to win. They went out and did what they were supposed to do. But we have now had two years of this system and it is pretty clear that this bye is not helpful to teams, especially if they won their divisions by early September. I also don't see it getting changed since there is no way in hell we are going to remove a team from the playoff. It will expand again like all playoffs do. The Phillies outplayed and outcoached Atlanta. As did the DBacks, Astros and Rangers to their opponents. Everyone won fair and square. Doesn't mean it is a good system.

Haha I think the difference between this year and last year for the Phils is their depth in pitching has improved.

I think you’re reading to much into the time off. That time off allows you to set your rotation. Bottom line is I think what you’re seeing is that in the case of Dodgers and Braves, there just isn’t the pitching depth that is needed for a series against high quality bats. The Dodgers rotation is brutal. You’re not going to just outscore everyone 9-6 in the playoffs. So yeah you can win 100 games in the reg season and not necessarily be setup for postseason success.
