Even Cubs fans would not "predict" a world series winning season. WHEN, yes, when that happens it will probably come as a surprise to us all.

Bumpity bump Hey BTB, the Reds might want to try walking El Hombre I wouldn't pitch to Albert in most situations. The guy doesn't miss a mistake, and hits good pitches hard (great backside hitter as well). Listened to Johnny Bench the other day and he said that he would call for the pitcher to walk him in most situations, and take your chances with Holiday (he isn't nearly as good as Pujols even though he is very good).

Nice win by the Reds today. Arroyo pitched well.
Tough to lose the first two games, but with Carpenter and Wainright it is tough to grab a victory.

Well, I guess my 0-162 prediction for the Cubs was a bit off, and won't happen, but a guy can dream, huh?

Well the Tigers won tonight so I am happy. 8-6 win over the Rangers.
The Reds on the other hand.......
What more do I need to say. Man pitching has been a major woe. Same with hitting.

The Reds beat the Astros tonight. I was really impressed with Mark Leake tonight. He pitched 7 good innings. He looked very sharp.
I am starting to become a Mark Leake fan. So far he is 2-0 when he is on the mound.

Mark Leake is starting tonight against the Mets. Mike Leake is the rare crafty righty (before Maddux it was unsure if they even existed). He doesn't have great stuff, but he mixes his pitches very well, and has to have a number of his breaking balls working in order to be successful against good lineups. In some ways he is similar to a Bronson Arroyo but I think his stuff is slightly better.

The Reds are up 2-1 at the top of the 6th. Drew Stubbs and the pitcher Mark Leake both hit homers.

I agree though, I think Mark has slightly better stuff.

Great pitching matchup tonight living up to the billing. 1-0 Phils lead after top of the 8th. Wainright and Hamels both pitching lights out. Gotta be honest, Hamels has been a bit shaky this year and this might be the outing that springboards him back to his '08 form. If that happens, Halladay and Hamels could be a deadly 1-2 punch come October.
