Yep, this will definitely create some musical chairs in the coaching world.
Tommy Rees seems like a good choice for the Tide.

the New CfB is something older coaches just don't want to be apart of anymore...
and i for one will say it... the 12 team playoff is apart of this. its easier to say "win 12 games and we get the shot"..... its different when you have a playoff and might go 12-0 and have to win 4 more to win it all.
but mostly its the NIL and TP that coaches are sick of already. Its easier just go to the NFL and be a 9-8 playoff team and get $20m per.... plus players have contracts......
Coaches use to love the CFB and not having to deal with pre-madonna players wanting more money every season..... now its in Cfb and no contracts.. it would be a nightmare to be a Cab coach nowadays.

He just bought a 18m home in Jupiter FL a few months ago, is 72yo, and with NIL and the Portal, all of his advantages are gone. Corches now have to recruit their current roster and HS Seniors every year.
I suspect there are other high profile corches who feel the same. My guess is they will take a shot at the NFL>

freestar According to Thamel, names to watch include Oregon’s Dan Lanning, Washington’s Kalen DeBoer, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Penn State’s James Franklin, Florida State’s Mike Norvell and Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman. Of course, every individual in that group is an active head coach.

Of that group, Lanning and Norvell would be nice hires.
I think outside of that group, you have to include Kiffin and Sarkisian.

Whoever follows Saban will have a hot seat after losing 2 games in the regular season at Bama. I hate to admit this but I just turned on Finebaum on the SEC Network to watch the train wreck.

My guess is that their first choice will be Dan Lanning. No, Bo Nix doesn’t have any more eligibility left.

There is a poster on the DawgVent, on the Georgia Rivals site, that called this on Dec 12th, stating Saban will announce after playoffs and that he inked a deal with ESPN for $14 million a year. Now I am kinda curious how right he is!
Pat MacAfee and Messsage Board Geniuses both quoted him when this came out and mocked him. Guess he showed them!!

Wasn't expecting that. Bama fans are probably sad, but he did bring them 6 NC's. So they should be grateful for him.

Breaking News. NORAD is tracking an unidentified aircraft that just departed Greenville, S.C. and is headed west across the Georgia state line. More updates when available. Now back to regular programing and the Andy Griffith Show.

Evidently the are rolling Toomers Corner in Auburn. Just checked the live cam, while there is some TP in the trees, that could be from last night’s basketball game.

Has Kiffin matured enough for Bama to consider him? He has done an outstanding job at Ole Miss.

I know coaches have huge egos, but following Saban is a loose/loose in my opinion. There is no way anyone is ever going to come close to matching what he accomplished. Whoever takes that job is going to be in trouble. That fan base has unrealistic expectations and nobody is going to be able to live up to them.
