I agree. It would certainly keep him going tonight if he would. That is how he struck out Swisher. He showed the changeup (for a strikes once or twice). Then the fastball that he threw (90 MPH his best of the night) looked significantly faster. Pitchers can be effective with a fastball (even if not overpowering) and a good changeup in the right location. The Phils need to score this inning just to break Andy's momentum and confidence. I think they will score too... he is starting to complain about the zone (because he was constantly missing spots last inning). He did miss int he right spots though, out of the strike zone...Phils get at least one here and make the game more 'tense'. They could score if they would only jump over his first fastball. Not much movement on them tonight.

His four seamer is a damn arrow tonight...
How about Francisco striking out on a fastball almost right over the heart (looking!)?

Why oh why are they staring at 87 MPH fastballs? They are not going to win the game with this approach.

Pettite's control continues to wain...
Another walk. This time with Rollins and the top of the order coming up. This is where it costs him a run...or more.

The Phillies hitters should look at Rollins AB...and model theirs after it. Attack fastballs, and let the breaking balls go (since they are not anywhere near strikes).

The Phils MUST make it through to the 6th only down 3. If they don't get anything going with Victorino, Utley and Howard, they probably won't get it going tonight.

Rollins hit it right off his hands to ground into that double play. I think Pettite stays in to face Victorino, Utley, and Howard, but if it gets to Werth I think he comes out or walks him (depending on the situation).

Durbin with a less than stellar showing.
Up 0-2 on A-Rod results in 4 straight balls..
They are FINALLY bringing in Ja Happ (bought time no?). Left your best arm in the bullpen till now? Too little too late.

It's over and even though he was limited in playing time, but Matsui is the MVP. He's been Pedro's and the Phillies Daddy!!

That was long overdue, that's for sure. Your Phils have a steep hill to climb, but its not over yet. Jaba couldn't throw anything for a strike but his fastball the last time he pitched. The Phils have to just sit fastball, let the rest go.

Yep, Mo will go 2 innings tonight in all likelihood. Phils need to get 1 or 2 on the board now.

Well I'm checking out, watching the end in bed.
Toph, good luck to your Phils, I hope they pull off the big comeback so we have a game 7 to watch. If they don't--my condolences.

I could make an argument for Rivera. But I assume it will go to either Matsui or in a shocker Utley.

Congrats to the Yanks! It was a pretty competitive series, but overall they got the timely hitting and pitching when they needed it most.
Ok BB, send me the avatar.
