When Kobe has Reddick on him and draining J's like that, then yes it would appear that the game/series are both over.

Ok, so you're the Lakers. You can only keep 1 of Ariza and Odom. What do you do?

Well last seasons Finals was better, but congrats to Kobe and the Lakers. Lakers had the 2nd best player in the League, and the best supporting cast by far.

All season long, I said I'd keep Ariza over Odom all the way until the finals. When Odom really plays, he's awesome.
but I'd still take the guy who plays hard every night. I think Odom takes the mid-level exception and stays. He doesn't want to move.

Buss has always shown a willingness to open the wallet for his guys after a championship, but Kobe will also likely renegotiate this summer. I'm not sure they can keep them both, but I sure hope they do.

Kobe could possibly restructure his contract to allow to keep both of them, but you never know. I'd keep Ariza cause you know what your getting every night.

yeah, it's not Buss that limits the Lakers, it's the salary cap and luxury tax. We'll really see what Kobe's about this summer, if he renegotiates and makes it impossible to keep Odom (if that's what they actually WANT to do) it'll say alot about his already suspect character.
But the Lakers really have an advantage in this, I think because 1) Odom wants to stay in LA 2) I don't think anyone is going to throw a lot of money at him 3) the mid level exception will let the Lakers make a pretty reasonable offer even if Kobe takes all the cake this summer (I think that's how the exception works)
Who knows. But the Lakers usually get it right.
What are your thoughts on Bynum? I'd trade him if I could get a good deal for him. maybe package Odom and Bynum and see if you can bring in a third amigo to go w/ Kobe and Gasol.
I like Bynum at times, but he seems soft to me.

Congrats to the Los Angela's Lakers!
They are the new Nba champs! I know not many people like Kobe but, im actually glad he won a championship. I kinda was pulling for the Magic though to win the finals! I usually pull for the underdog. Im cool with the Lakers though.
Who do you all think will win it all next year? Any predictions?

Kobe may have been able to win an NBA Title without Shaq, but he can't win one without Derek Fisher!

Odom can be a complete stud at times but other times, you think he has a twin who sucks at BBall. I like Ariza and he had a great playoffs. Lakers might not have even made the Finals had it not been for Ariza and his steals and 3 ball.

The Orlando Tragic are now 1-8 in two trips to the Finals.
Not too good.

I think Bynum is soft and a project right now, while Odom is highly inconsistent, but when he's on, he's really good. You'd need to get a really good young big man to go along with Gasol and I'm not so sure there is one out there that would make me give up on Bynum just yet. Try to bring both Odom and Ariza back and if successful, they would have as good a shot as any to get back to where they were this year.

Oh and congrats to the Lakers on the title. They earned it.
Phil now has 10. I'm sure the detractors will want to say how overrated he is and that could be a whole other thread worth of material.

How long is an acceptable amount of time to say "I was right" from the get-go.....?
