Schotty leaving now. No Richt no Pruitt no Shotty no Kirby. Can I sue UGA for selling me bowl tickets under big time false pretenses? I'd say Schotty not calling the plays would be a bonus

NCBD is dealing with life delivering blows only it knows how to deal. God bless you all, and I ask one simple request...Love your family and friends, and express yourself so they know. Just know I am dealing with what will be the loss of another dear friend, coworker, Mom, and wife who is about to lose her battle with cancer. I am so sickened of this disease and who it does not discriminate against. Again, let those you love know you love them. I promise you, it can not hurt. (Pardon the "whatever person" I spoke in.)

This is really going to be a joke.
ATHENS — Georgia will be down one more full-time assistant coach when bowl practice commences on Wednesday.
Mike Ekeler, who has served the Bulldogs as inside linebackers coach and co-special teams coordinator the last two seasons, confirmed Tuesday that he’ll be leaving the program. Ekeler is pursuing another position elsewhere as a defensive coordinator.
“I’m not going to be able to coach in the bowl game,” Ekeler said. “I feel terrible as far as the players go. I love those kids; they’re great kids. But looking out for your family, sometimes you have to do things. If you don’t have a job, you have to get the job. That’s just the economics of the situation.”
Jeremy Pruitt, UGA’s defensive coordinator the past two seasons, left Friday to become defensive coordinator at Alabama. That leaves only defensive line coach Tracy Rocker and outside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer to coach the Bulldogs’ defense in the TaxSlayer Bowl Jan. 2 in Jacksonville. Sherrer will serve as defensive coordinator.
Georgia returns to the practice field on Wednesday. Ekeler did not know who might fill in for him on the practice field. The Bulldogs could elevate one of its defensive quality-control specialists.
Ekeler and his family — wife Barbie and children J.J., Cameryn, Abigail and Bella — have been on the move a lot the last few years. Since leaving Nebraska in 2010, the Ekelers were at Southern Cal for one year before coming to Athens in the winter of 2014. A native Nebraskan and Kansas State letterman, Ekeler has also worked at Oklahoma, LSU and Nebraska.
“We’ve been all over the country, and I’ll tell you what: I’m going to shed a bunch of tears leaving this place,” Ekeler said. “Athens is such an unbelievable town and our neighborhood is phenomenal, all the people here are just amazing. It’s the best place we’ve ever lived and it’s not even close. It’s been awesome.”
Ekeler was known for the passion and energy he brought to the field and especially to the sidelines during games. He would jump and chest bump players after they made plays, especially on special teams, where Ekeler excelled as college player at Kansas State. He infamously knocked nearly unconscious Georgia player Rico McGraw with a helmet slap after Isaiah McKenzie’s touchdown return in the Auburn game.
Ekeler’s departure seemed imminent. He had not been among the Georgia assistants on the road recruiting or attending any of the team functions.
“I love these players,” Ekeler said. “They’re good kids and they all know how I feel about them. But I’m ready to go my own way and lead the right way and teach these kids and develop them.”

I am not saying its not a problem. It is. But not sure what you can do about it. It would have been better for UGA for Pruitt to remain with Georgia through the bowl game. But still it would have been an awkward situation and with Bama playing for the title, Georgia is secondary. As a Dawg fan not happy, but if Kirby is truly this messiah that some Georgia fans believe he is, it will be worth it.

It is just an exhibition game. Hell, if you believe all the posts by Dawg fans on this board, the players are good enough to coach themselves.

Alex Martin Smith, SEC Country Staff Writer
Nick Saban has been in Kirby Smart’s shoes before, so he knows what Smart is doing is not necessarily in the best interest of his new employer.
Instead of jumping to Georgia full-time after Alabama’s SEC championship game win two weeks ago, Smart — Crimson Tide defensive coordinator, Bulldogs head coach — decided to stick around and finish off a national title run in Tuscaloosa. Good for Alabama? Yes. Good for Georgia? No way.
Saban is obviously pleased to keep his defensive boss around for another few weeks.
“It speaks volumes for Kirby’s character and all that he has to want to come back and finish when it may not be the most advantageous thing for him and his future,” Saban said Wednesday night. “To do right by the players and come back and finish and do a good job for the guys who have worked hard for him.”
Alabama currently has two defensive coordinators in town: Smart and Jeremy Pruitt, who left the same post at Georgia to get started on recruiting for Alabama, and who will be taking the reins in 2016.

Tracy Rocker to be retained as the Defensive Line coach. Good move as one of the biggest areas of improvement has been the defense against the run. Kevin Scherer being retained as well and it is beginning to look like he might be the DC.

Now its official:
Kirby Smart has filled a pair of defensive assistant coach vacancies at Georgia by retaining current defensive line coach Tracy Rocker and outside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer. An official announcement was made by the University of Georgia on Tuesday.
An Outland and Lombardi Trophy winner during his playing days at Auburn in the late 1980’s Rocker had spent the previous two seasons as the defensive line coach in Athens under Mark Richt and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.
During that time his defensive linemen showed steady improvement, including the emergence of Chris Mayes and James DeLoach as major contributors in their second season under the long-time assistant.
Rocker also has a strong prowess on the recruiting trail, laning the 247Sports National Player of the Year for 2015, Trenton Thompson, as well as four-star prospects Chauncey Rivers, Michael Barnett, and Jonathan Ledbetter.
Before arriving in Athens for the 2014 season, the Atlanta native had spent three seasons with the Tennessee Titans. The two years previous to his stop in Nashville, Rocker had spent two years at Auburn.
Sherrer, too, has been in Athens for two years and came to The Classic City with Pruitt. He has also developed a reputation as a strong recruiter, landing four-star linebacker Natrez Patrick as well as promising defensive back Juwuan Briscoe.
The Alabama native is currently serving as Georgia’s interim defensive coordinator for the TaxSlayer Bowl.

I am not sure if Sherrer is going to be the DC or not. Seems odd that Kirby would have hired all these defensive assistants before he hired his DC. Maybe he has a commitment but can't announce until after their bowl game is over or maybe it is going to be Sherrer.
