Actually against Ole Miss you could argue his fumble was the key difference in a one score game and Dart played a flawless game. Oh and Ole Miss D is pretty sorry as well. Ole Miss 57th defense LSU 108th defense That’s not the main point. Both defenses on that particular day were porous. Or are you trying to insinuate that the reason Dart played well was a shitty D while Daniels put up numbers against a solid D just to keep up. That’s just a bridge too far.

I not saying Ole Miss doesn't have a bad defense, only LSU's defense is ranked a lot worst. The ranking has to mean something. Ole Miss had a shut down defense in 1959. Unbelievable stats. If I remember right - they just allowed 21 points in 11 games. Eight shutouts. There only loss was to LSU, 7 to 3. Which they made up for when they shut out LSU in the Sugar Bowl in a rematch 21 to 0. Now that was a defense.

guess I'll have to be satisfied with the Maxwell Award and Coach of the Year winners... And a chance to win a natty. That’s most important.

Daniels was named the Walter Camp player of the year, but was on the second team All-American list as the QB. Kind of strange.

Not sure I get where all this whining about Daniels winning the Heisman comes from. LSU won 9 games and were not 6-6. Caleb Williams lost 4 last year. Lamar Jackson did too. If we are only go by team record, I didn't see same level of concern when a walk on won consecutive national championships.

Most of you probably don't remember Julie London? She was a singer way back who sang a song, "Cry Me A River." That's what Ghost is doing, "Crying a River."

"Stats"..... i ean, i have never seen so many posters bring up "stats" this year.... its quite amazing. i lived and fought on stats for over a deuce and got pummeled here...
Lets do what was done before....
Take out Georgia St and grambling..... thats 509 and 8 TD's running it up vs. GAST.... another 298 yards and 5 TD's....... Throw in Army.... 285 and 4.....
In 3 OOC games for LSU.... thats 1,092 yards and 17 TD's...... he had 1 p5 game were he went for 400+ passing..... against OL Miss....
the stats are good.... but his marquee games were against GAST, UF and Miss....
He had lots of stats but what was it i was told every damn year???
"well, when your defense sucks and allows teams to score, you are going to have the ball, and you are going to pass a lot.... when your team dictates you constantly have to outscore teams to win instead of being able to stop anyone, your stats are inflated......"
I didn't make the rules.... i'm just wondering why stats are not getting the same damn treatment now when its an SEC QB.... ?/

Most Heisman Trophies... USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, each with 7. And no, Oklahoma doesn't count. Alabama is next with 4. Then LSU, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Army and Nebraska with 3. Come up with another SEC myth.

If we are only go by team record, I didn't see same level of concern when a walk on won consecutive national championships. I was going to leave this alone, but since you ask: I think that sums it up nicely. As for David, I don't want to speak for him but for years when various TTU QBs had eye popping stats they weren't even remotely in the conversation for Heisman, and one of the reasons given was "Well, with that shitty defense [QB X] had to throw a lot, so his stats don't count" and now the "his defense sucks" excuse is being used to prop up the Heisman winner. To an extent he has a valid point.
